2018 Series #1 | Indians @ Mariners | March 29th, 31st, & April 1st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The first choke was fine. 2017, though, remains a sore subject for myself and many. :chuckle: It was a great moment but I can't watch it without remembering we ended another season on a three game losing streak.
I have no problem being the Warriors of baseball.

Must-win series.

While Indians lose the h2h ERA matchup, our starting pitchers had way more wins last year than their Seattle counterparts, so I'm just not sure how these games will go. I'm thinking James Paxton has a career year in honor of his late father Bill. I also just noticed that Felix has spacers at age 32, so that gives Kluber yet another edge. The wildcard will be game 3, with Bauer squaring off against the Reds cast off. Curious to see if Trevor really turned a corner or if he is still riding that rollercoaster of inconsistency.

The Indians are the clear favorite in the AL Central and should definitely win the division. There are 2 parts to winning a championship in baseball. Winning the division is part 1. And part 1 is all they can do is the very, very long 162 game marathon. But, as we all know, you get to the playoffs, especially early in a short (should be 7 games), but a short best of 5 series anything can happen. I don't care who they play in the playoffs, or if the Indians are the favorites or not, or exactly how many games they win, or home field, or anything. Just win the division, and we'll have another shot at this thing.

I don't want to hear or see anything from that series, ever.

Interesting. I can sometimes watch the Rajai homer but it's bittersweet. The Lindor homerun I watch when I'm feeling down sometimes. Still love it. It was the last highlight of a season ended too short. But yeah, losing 3 in a row again was fucking shitty.

My feeling is that if we won the game then I like the highlight. I still love LeBron's game winner over the Magic, but if we blew the game itself then I usually don't want to watch or see a recap.

Anyway, I say somewhere between 125 and 147 wins. Win a Wild Card berth but lose the play-in. Break records with a 32 game win streak and a 24 game losing streak back to back.

Yeah, I know. I was being kind of facetious. It's just depressing the way the last 2 seasons have ended. I mean, our regular season was just off the chain last year. We could replicate it this year and I won't be nearly as excited...I'll remember last year and how it all comes down to a best of 5 series and be nervous as fuck. But truth is I should have realized that last year. That's just MLB for you.

Or, as Hue Jackson would call it, "wildly successful"
Well to be fair if there was a pro baseball focus website and it gave our hitters good ratings despite all the losing some of the posters on here would find a way to convince themselves it was a great year too.

I still can't fucking believe they lost that ALDS. That makes me so mad.

Here's to a new season, though. Hopefully Alonso can bring something and replace our beloved, at times frustrating, Carlos Santana.

I expect to be in the Postseason. Maybe a move at the deadline? But, like last year, this team has no reason to not challenge for the World Series.
