So is anyone still a fan of Kipnis anymore? Seems like one of those fan favorites that is getting by just because of that. Guy's hitting around .150 right now.
Some people i've talked to have this stance past couple of years, "Oh don't worry about Kip, he has an off year then he has an on year. He'll find his way." Seems it has regressed to all off-years at this point.
When he's hurt he just can't make it work, but is it possible now he's done?
2013: .284/.366/.452, 17 HR, 36 2B, All-Star
2014: .240/.310/.330, 6 HR, 25 2B
2015: .303/.372/.451, 9 HR, 43 2B, All-Star
2016: .275/.343/.469, 23 HR, 41 2B
2017: .232/.291/.414, 12 HR, 25 2B
2017 he was beat up all year and played in only 90 games. The only year where he was relatively healthy and sucked ass for the most part was 2014.
I'd take 2013, 2015, or 2016 out of Kipnis in a heartbeat. Dude straight raked in Spring Training and deserves a fair shake this year if he's healthy.
Kipnis has a higher batting average right now than Jose and Zimmer, and I don't see people clamoring to kick them outta town on April 4th. Give him a bit of a chance.
