2018 Series #2 | Indians @ Angels | April 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
2013: .284/.366/.452, 17 HR, 36 2B, All-Star
2014: .240/.310/.330, 6 HR, 25 2B
2015: .303/.372/.451, 9 HR, 43 2B, All-Star
2016: .275/.343/.469, 23 HR, 41 2B
2017: .232/.291/.414, 12 HR, 25 2B

2017 he was beat up all year and played in only 90 games. The only year where he was relatively healthy and sucked ass for the most part was 2014.

I'd take 2013, 2015, or 2016 out of Kipnis in a heartbeat. Dude straight raked in Spring Training and deserves a fair shake this year if he's healthy.

Kipnis has a higher batting average right now than Jose and Zimmer, and I don't see people clamoring to kick them outta town on April 4th. Give him a bit of a chance.

2014 he had an oblique injury. Oblique injuries are season ruiners.

Yea he killed it in Spring Training. But is not keeping it up.

Will keep my hopes up.

Most of our hitters have been shit so far. It's baseball and it's the first week for fucks sake.

Kluber sharp again

Kind of matters since all we did was lose hitters in the off season and did not replace them.

This. This a million times. Give at least 50 games or so before you start making judgements based on stat lines. Even then I'll tell you to wait until July.

EDIT: FYI, the guys we supposedly didn't replace are hitting .200, .176, and .133 so far this year.

We replaced Carlos Santana with Yonder Alonso who is off to a pretty solid start, and we lost Jay Bruce who was here all of 45 games and is off to a dreadful start for the Mets.

We'll most likely have Brantley back in the lineup within a week.

It's April 4th and we're currently in position to go home at .500 after an opening week west coast trip against a solid squad in Seattle and a team that is going to try to be in the playoff hunt in LA.

We're fine.

I see you've rated my post Funny. How exactly is it funny? Who replaced Bruce and Santana, two mainstay hitters in our lineup?

And what is so wrong with questioning some players?

I'm not trying to tell everyone to give up all hope, just trying to ask some questions about this lineup.

Bruce was a huge hitter, and when it mattered. He is a loss whether you want to admit it or not.

Alonso is a downgrade from Santana. Please try to prove me wrong.

& I'd love for Brantley to come out balling, trust me I do. I'm just not going to put all of my faith in that with his history of injuries.

Definitely need to cut that Kipnis guy. :chuckle:

Right on cue there's Kip with a clutch RBI single against a lefty.

Well I knew for a fact Kip would do something after I ragged on him lol.

Nothing wrong with questioning players. Big problem with questions players because of a 20 AB sample size. When healthy, Kipnis has always been good. He's healthy now, I'd give him at least until June before we talk about writing him off.

Santana was absolutely a mainstay, Bruce was absolutely not. Alonso replaced Santana, and should give us 90% of what Santana did.
