2018 Series #34 | Indians @ Twins | July 30th, 31st, and August 1st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They need to cut ties with Mike scioscia IMO

There's really just not a ton of talent on that roster. Looking at their starting lineup:

C - Martin Maldanado is garbage.
1B - Albert Pujols can still crank the occasional homer, but he's the slowest guy in baseball and his fielding is not that good anymore. More of a name than anything. 38 years old.
2B - Ian Kinsler is finally starting to break down. He's 36.
SS - Andrelton Simmons is a great defensive shortstop, probably the best in baseball. He's also batting over .300 this year. Pretty damn good ballplayer.
3B - Luis Valbuena is horrible.
LF - Justin Upton is a talented offensive outfielder. Alright on defense, but he's a nice guy to have on your squad.
CF - Mike Trout is the best player in baseball.
RF - Kole Calhoun historically has been a solid guy, but he's barely over the Mendoza line this year.
DH - Ohtani started off hot, then he got hurt, and now he's not pitching and is a run of the mill offensive player.

Everybody on their bench either sucks or is hurt.

Their rotation outside of Skaggs lacks any true lockdown talent, and I personally think they're lucky in how much they are overachieving. Their bullpen is solid, but again, nothing special. Parker, Alvarez, and Bredrosian are all good arms.

So basically their roster composition is garbage. I'm not trying to defend Scioscia either, because I think he's an average guy at best that would've been gone 10 years ago if he didn't win a World Series, but that front office deserves a lot of blame for surrounding a top-2 or 3 player of the 21st century with Anderelton Simmons, Justin Upton, a bunch of old former stars, and a bunch of raw sewage.

Fernando Rodney is almost hitting triple digits at 41 years old.

Well that sucks. Left too many RISP.

Baseball makes no sense for better or worse; Minnesota can’t beat Kansas City to save its life but they can’t lose to us.

Good thing I didn't see it live, probably would've reacted as such.

We needed that win! Oh wellz! We need to get some hits with runners on. If we did that then we could have easily won this game.

Did not take advantage of the handful of opportunities tonight. It will get interesting now to see if any moves are made in the next day.

I agree. Right now they don’t, but they have had a ton of ton talent in the past, and they spent a lot of money, but couldn’t win. It’s time for a new manager. Scocia’s time is over with the Angels

Yep, really didn’t need any “clutch” hitting either, just put the ball in the play and they didn’t.

0-11 with RISP and left 10 men on base, tough night

That's what makes them very frustrating to watch this year.
Indians with RISP this year MLB ranks:

Runs: 4th
Homeruns: T3rd with Yankees
Batting Average (specifically because the comment was putting the ball in play): 10th
OPS: 7th

If the Indians are a tough team to watch because of how they hit with RISP then pretty much every team in the MLB is tough to watch

It is always magnified for the home team and also we have games that we hit every single time and games we go 0 for 10+ its been very feast or famine in that category. I think we wanna see more consistency at the end of the day.
