2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Interesting. Thanks for letting us know. I would assume it would take a serious prospect or two in order to get it done. Any inclination as to who?

If you think Manny Machado is the final piece to get the Indians over the proverbial hump especially with the lack of Bullpen this year then by all means you must go out and get him

What @The Wizard of Moz said. There is no "hump." This isn't the NBA. The best team doesn't win. All you really have to do is get to the postseason, and it looks like the Indians are going to do that.

We're already a top-5 offense in baseball, with one of the best starting pitching staffs the game has seen. Just shore up the obviously deficient parts of your roster and take your best swing.

Uh. Just passing this along.

If they’re actually available:
Treinen
Ottavino
Hand

In that order because they’re the best

This is the obvious need- although removing Kipnis would bring me great joy

Doesn't seem like the Indians are getting any mentions lately, all Phillies and some Brewers.

The infield the Indians would have, along with their lineup being absolutely insane with Manny Machado in there.. Too good to be true. I would roll with that group against anyone.

Getting back Andrew Miller next week is going to be like acquiring another arm for the bullpen. I know we need at least another guy, So the best win I can see this deadline would be adding 1 legit arm, and stealing Manny Machado somehow.

Best case, anyway.

If they’re giving up their #2 prospect I’d guess it’s pretty much over for the Tribe

Using mlb.com’s prospect rankings the only prospects we have that rank higher than Medina are McKenzie and Mejia. If we were willing to part with either of them my guess is Machado would already be an Indian

Just can’t unload the chamber for a luxury piece rental

I’d be absolutely livid with the front office if they forked out Mck or Mejia for Machado. Wouldn’t be surprised if Bal said there’s no deal without one of them included and we just responded with “okay that’ll be all.”

Perhaps that’s why we were out a minute ago. Don’t blame them at all for that. That’d have been a wildly irresponsible move and I’m fine with going to war with Kip with how he’s been playing since May.

Focus on the bullpen and outfield and see what you can get done (should have be prioritized higher anyway).

We’ve been hearing about and talking about Mej for a couple years. He’s yet to really break into the majors, and is positionless.
Yes he is a promising bat, but the window is open and keeping Mck is more valuable IMO. Balt would need to throw in the best reliever in the seal also.
It likely won’t happen, but it should be on the table.

Can they trust Miller to stay healthy? That’s the biggest question. Yes- him coming back is like acquiring an all star, but they still need to fortify that bullpen.

Don’t know why you wouldn’t.

Because he’s been legit good for two months now.

Only worth displacing him if we get Machado without giving up top guys.
