2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Won’t happen but man Rasiel Iglesias would be amazing...

Well that Jerry Crasnick tweet is interesting, because it seems like he hasn't been paying attention when he says that these three relievers would "constitute a significant upgrade for the Tribe".

Zach Britton - has been awful this year, always injured, 4.8 BB/9 2017-2018, fastball down 2.1 MPH from 2017 to 2018. Lost control last year, lost even more control and velocity this year. Stay away. He's like Miller only without showing any signs of being his old self.

Brad Brach - historically decent reliever despite walks, this year his velocity is down as well and the peripherals have him looking like our lesser relievers.

Darren O'Day - the least flashy of the three but maybe the most valuable at this point. He's a submariner who matches up well versus RHB. He may even have increased effectiveness in a new division against teams that haven't seen him as much, given how his style is more gimmicky.

I'd definitely take O'Day of the three for the rest of the year, and the other two are arguably not even upgrades. Britton's got the name recognition but that's all I'm seeing.

Random question, but do any of you guys play baseball or have you played in the past? I’m in a local men’s league for guys 25 and older, so I’m curious if anyone else here is too.

I play. I’m a huge baseball glove enthusiast. Like to the point where it’s a sick passion/hobby to collect, buy, trade etc.. (Btw the Alex Bregman Easton glove is coming out on September 1st..11.75 single post!! I’m giddy..)

But honestly even if I didn’t play I’d still be an every day catch, break a glove in guy..

Tried to play Roy Hobbs a few years ago, but hurt my arm. Shoulder still isn’t right, so I never went back. Can still swing a bat, but I was just more interested in pitching, and that’s over now.

My dad actually helps run one of the Roy Hobbs organizations out of Kent fielding teams at all age levels.

Speaking of bourbon. How corny is Easton labeling their premium glove line "small batch". If the Indians win a WS will you blend up your Bregman glove and drink it?

It’s kinda lame.. But Eric has really done a hell of a job getting his gloves out there through Easton...

I own an H-Web 12in model (believe it was batch 3?) It is a tank !! All Horween leather..

Red Sox traded for Steve Pearce. I can't help but think that he's the kind of guy who could've helped us out, if we were ready to ditch Guyer. Nice positional versatility and would be even an upgrade over Alonso vs lefties.

Darren O'Day is out for the season, know he was mentioned earlier

Damn, he would have been a nice fit in this pen and is under contract through 2019. Give me one of Hand, Iglesias, Treinen, or Barraclough along with another right handed arm, ideally Ottavino, and let's roll.

Ouch, yeah, would've liked him.

Apparently, Toronto is really trying to dump players now. Loup, Clippard, and Estrada from Toronto should be free agents in 2019. Clippard and Estrada are not who I'd really want (not sure how they'd really be an upgrade unless we lost someone), and we probably don't need another lefty with Olson and Merritt coming back.

Adrian Beltre may be available as a rental. We'd probably get outbid there though, since as with Machado, we'd be getting him to play third and then bump Jose somewhere else where he may not be as valuable.

I know it's a controversial opinion but I really don't see our bullpen as a glaring weakness and certainly not one worth selling the farm for at this moment. Tomlin and Kontos are weak but we've got Miller, Olson, and Plutko waiting to come back sometime soon.

I would take Tyler Clippard in a heartbeat, bro. This team needs at least two quality relievers to add to the pen both preferably being right-handed.
