2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ed already touched on Torres, but Capel has had success moving through our system as well.

FO must really like Mercado.

Also is it the factor of Capel only at A ball while Mercado can make an impact more now/in 19 to replace a brantley etc?

MLB Network believes the Indians are doing things right. They aren't a team fighting for a division, they have another 30 days to figure things out and OFs always get placed on waivers, one name brought up is McCutchen.

They said we could've done better though.

They’re not making a desperate move. I believe they would have the first crack at a waiver guy, as they have the worst record of all the contending teams.
They really did move the needle much today, but their big move was the bullpen. That in itself moved the needle.

I don’t think they’re done looking at outfielders whatsoever.

Recent hot streaks aside, I’m hard pressed to think they’re actually comfortable with Melky and Rajai starting games in the playoffs.

Bottom line is this, if the Indians can acquire Andrew McCutchen via waivers.. They're in prime position to battle anybody.

Martin is a good get, I had a feeling we would acquire him or someone near his talent level. He will be a solid addition.

But McCutchen would move the needle a little for this team. If we end up with him, I feel confident in this team for sure.

Especially once healthy, and Miller returns.

International slot money !!!

Just like the old days...

Cutch hit a oppo HR today, going to be looking good as a Indian soon.
Should I start writing up lineups with him??

I don't even wanna think about where he would go.. We already have one of, if not the best 1-4 in baseball. 3 all-stars, Edwin, then you have a little bit of a drop off, but respectable guys.

Making the bottom part of the lineup more impactful would do wonders. I feel like a lot of pressure is on the top of the lineup to produce every single night if we want to win and score runs. I miss Chiz and his bat big time. He helped the bottom part of the lineup for sure. Bummer he went down.. Felt like he was going to have a big year. He was very good early on.

Say we need Andrew McCutchen.. What do we look like 1-9?

1. Lindor
2. Brantley
3. Ramirez
4. Encarnacion
5. McCutchen
6. Alonso
7. Kipnis
8. Gomes
9. Martin

Although Tito has shown a propensity to alternate L/R bats when he can, so he might slot in 6th behind Alonso

Kluber or Cookie, or even Bauer on the mound with Brad Hand, Andrew Miller, Cody Allen, Perez and Ramirez in the pen..

Man that lineup. With our pitching.. I just can't see us losing.

Getting way too ahead of ourselves. I am, anyway. Really am all in on Dutch. Hopefully we can work something out with San Fran.

I'm not 100% sure about how waivers work, though.

Really hope they add an impact bat in August...

In theory, this team here (despite their inconsistent and underachieving play thus far) may actually be the best team they’ll field going into post season play of this era ? *(if healthy)

Obviously that’s predicated on health of some key pieces. But if you’re going into the post season with 2 cy young candidates as well as 2 MVP candidates to go along with a healthy rotation and potentially dominant back end of a bullpen like they have—-really cannot sacrifice 2018’s full potential just to keep the window open for years to come....Just can’t justify it as every team going forward may not be as good (losing key pieces being the main factor) as this current group, to go along with essentially a free ride to the postseason...

Truly cannot see an Indians team being better than this team if they put it all together and add to it...

We'll definitely need 2016 Pitching in order to beat Boston and NY.

My dream is to beat Boston, New York, and Los Angeles. They all can suck this Cleveland you know what. That'll be the best road to a championship ever.

Right now it seems more probable than not that we'll face Houston in the ALDS
