2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

@CBBI and other guys who know PFF, How good was Robinson rated as a starter for Cleveland? Harrison I think we can keep as a backup Tackle next season since we always need the depth he would bring to the table.

Now with Perriman, Higgins, Callaway, Landry, thats not a bad WR core, but I still feel we need one more WR that can help draw the defense. Whether it would be in free agency or Draft, I could care less what way we get a guy, but I think one more of a landry level with the other guys we have, this will be a nice offensive unit.

WR almost always takes a year or two to develop. We have 4 solid WR, but know stars. Our defense has a decent amount of holes and I don't think this is the year to use draft capital to get a WR. Either one of the 3 receivers develops a chemistry with Baker and becomes a stud (non Landry) or we cut Landry and replace him with a different high priced free agent more worthy of the 10+ mill price tag. Either way if we are going to use draft capital early in the draft on offense, I would want a tackle or maybe a TE, but really nothing else. Our defense could use some speed and improvement.

Robinson rated out at a 59%, which is considered "average". Chris Hubbard had graded out poorly in Haley's offense but actually climbed up to 65.1% which is deemed above average. The change in offensive scheme put both tackles in better position to hold the rush a shorter amount of time.

The important outlier factor here is that the entire league is desperate for tackles due to short supply and high demand. Robinson is young, has all the physical traits desired, and improving as a UFA. All of that could make him an attractive lottery ticket for some other franchise.

We could move up for a LT as well, since they seem to go top 15 anymore normally (though I don't know Dorsey's track record when it comes to drafting OLine guys), but my guess is they will have a few targets and have deals kind of planned ahead if this person falls/is available here.

Dorsey's drafting of OL:

2013: Eric Fisher 1st round, 1st overall

2014: Zach Fulton, 6th round

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, 6th round

2015: Mitch Morse, 2nd round

2016: Parker Ehinger, 4th round

2018: Austin Corbett, 2nd round

Unrelated to ether recent discussion; but I really hope Chad Thomas shows up to offseason workouts and OTAs ready to roll. He seemed like a guy who had potential to generate some interior rush.

I don’t know how serious he is about the music industry so I literally don’t know how big of a priority football is but I’m going to look closely for information on that as the season progresses.

Heard that Dorsey did an interview on 92.3 the other day. Would “loooooove” to know where he did that interview from??

I always thought the Chad Thomas being more into music jokes were half serious, but damn, I came across that dude's twitter profile last night. Not a single thing about football on there and everything is about music. Cut that dude's ass if he doesn't look like he made a big leap in training camp.

Do you think it's possible they took Thomas thinking he was Joe Jackson?

It’s certainly not impossible.

Maybe Haslam will start calling him Colin Powell for his subperb leadership on this one.

Meanwhile, Sam Hubbard had 6 sacks and was a disruptive force as a rookie.

I didn't see Ward playing during the pro bowl, did I just miss him?

Sure as shit didn’t watch a second of the pro bowl but I saw a video on twitter of him matched up with Antonio Brown in a practice. I’m sorry my comment addressed nothing.
