2019 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wonder if the Redskins would be listening on Trent Williams this off-season. They have some significant cap issues this season and he's struggled with injuries.

Still only 30, but is really really good when he's healthy.

I don't know that I'd speculate on price, but hopefully something in the 3rd or 4th round range?

Would solve a major issue for this team.

I would love Trent Williams. I live in DC and watch the Redskins when the Browns are not playing. Williams does a lot that goes undiscussed. He's a great lineman.

I don't think it is an argument about the value of a top TE vs a WR, I read it that an important part of the pyramid is how OFTEN top players at their position (Tight ends in this instance), how OFTEN do the top tight ends get to free agency.

You can draft a potential HOF LT in a draft, but how often can you snag a current All-pro LT in free agency? Rarely, if ever. Thus, their draft value is very high and they are slotted high in the pyramid.

A top level G or C? Heck, the Browns lose them all the time! Thus, (probably JUST because of the Browns, i.e. Schwartz/Mack etc), the G and C are slotted low on the pyramid.

How often does a guy of gronk or Kelce’s caliber get moved on FA? If you want to argue shelf life, I’ll entertain that, but not FA. When’s the last time the top TE in the league was moved in FA?

I’m not talking Jordan Cameron level of tight end, I’m talking the top tier. Both gronk and Kelce are like having another wr on the field.

When healthy, Trent is a top 5 LT at worst. I would be all aboard acquiring him, if available. Is this just speculation or are there talks about him being potentially available because of that cap situation?

Do you count Julius Thomas? He was en fuego before he got hit with the Jacksonville.

Are we really arguing whether or not certain positions are more valued than others? The NFL transition and franchise pay scale is built around this basic idea.

Correct. The pyramid has the TE at the same tier as a #2WR and a starting RB. So the position IS valued like a #2WR.

What all goes into that evaluation is only partially described, but I figure the originator had a lot more data and true NFL experience then me, so I find it another interesting behind the scenes tool.

Coming around on Hollywood Brown, put that dude on the field and let him work.
Just coming to talk about dude.

Any idea where he’s projected to go?

I want Hollywood Brown and Hakeem Butler.

First or second.

Brown is going to rip a serious 40.

There’s a good mix of Desean Jackson and Antonio Brown traits.

But undersized, a bit raw on the route precision. But his quickness and vertical ability is elite elite.

I think with Baker, guys who thrive in RAC has got to he a priority. It's why a guy like Hall out of MIZZOU or Brown from OU makes sense.

I think KJ Hill may not be a bad idea either.
