2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think if the Pelicans get 3, they take someone besides Barrett. We saw they both need spacing and their team is already low on shooters. Garland makes more sense to me.

I can see a situation where Pelicans don't want Barrett, and the Lakers don't want Barrett because of the Ingram overlap and he falls to 5.

For a market like the Pelicans though to get Zion and then have the chance to bring in a player he has played well with and has a good relationship with, is hard to pass up. I feel like it would be the best bet to keep Zion there long term.

This really doesn't make any sense. Love can take the rookie under his wing and mentor him. Honestly if Goga is the guy then no reason to trade Love immediately. You trade him when its time, not just to make room for a rookie.
That's true, but I find it exceptionally difficult to think Love despite being the "good soldier" whilst being hurt during a tanking year after getting his huge payday etc is going to embrace the idea of mentoring his replacement.
I think CLE absolutely is looking at Goga in a trade up scenario and no way do they consider him at 5 without plans to move Love, even if it isn't until the dl. instead of right away.
Goga is not versatile enough to play the 4 in the NBA and so adding another 1 position big (Henson/Zizic) in addition to having Nance,Love and TT without moving at minimum 2 of the 5 seems extremely unlikely and there is no chance Goga is considered the bpa at 5 where fit doesn't matter.

It would be good for marketing too. I am just saying, if I was Griff I would think pretty hard on that and do the research on their relationship etc. I mean I can see Barrett wanting to get out of Zion's shadow even if he really liked him. Being his little buddy might mean you don't keep Barrett Long term.

Yep Actually don't think Barrett wants Pelicans at all. Zion or no Zion.
He wants to be in NY or LA

Yeah most reports are saying Barrett wants to play under the big lights in New York or Los Angeles. I wouldn't want him on Cavs for that reason alone. In theory he could grow to love the city but when someone wants the big lights they usually pout until they get it.

Kyrie will always find something to pout about

I'd prolly still take Barrett

I'd be fine if our draft play out like this

#5 Culver or Reddish

Find a way to move up enough to grab bol bol

Now is the time to take risks and seek out potential, especially in this draft where the pickings are slim

also i'm starting to watch goga, if he can hit the 3 he should be considered

I'd rather take Bol Bol at #5 than Reddish, although I'd rather get Culver than either of them.

Reddish has career bench player written all over him. I watched him play 15+ times this year, not counting the tournament. Every time he's given a chance to do something, he failed. Lazy on defense half the time.

Rodney Hood 2.0 isn't worth the #5 pick.

5. Reddish (Culver if he is there but doubt it)
26. Horton-Tucker or Cam Johnson

- buy a second round pick and take Chuma Okeke or if he goes undrafted sign him.. has a lot of talent and is suited to modern NBA

Bol bol has injuries written all over him

I want no part of Reddish in this draft. Only Duke player I would actually want is Zion. Was never high on RJ. Don't see greatness from any of the Duke players outside of Zion.

Currently I want Culver or Bol Bol. Yes Bol Bol has some health concerns with his frame but dude was the best player in college for the 9 games he played. 20 9 on 56 from the field 52 from 3 2 BPG. Dude is very impressive. But the health concerns are real. He could be the second coming of Kristaps even down to the fail frame. But amazing when hes on the court healthy.
