Planning for the future is important, so hear me out.

Around that time, Kyrie, Barnes, Nerles Noel and Alonzo Gee should have won one or two rings, so we could take a year off and target this guy:

Yep, that's Shareef O'Neal, Shaq's son. He's going to be great, trust me. Just look at this article and tell me I'm lying:
Shareef O'Neal: The next Shaq or the next Blake Griffin?
"My (10 year old) son is starting to play now, and I don't like to let him watch players that are really, really fancy. Of course, I'll let him watch Kobe, LeBron, T-Mac (Tracy McGrady). But I show him Blake Griffin and I say, 'Shareef, this is the dude you should watch and pattern your game after.' Because my son, when he's older, I think he's going to have the same body type -- 6-10, muscular, freakish athletically."
How is that for upside?

Grant, get it done!

PS. let's get this thread to a 1000 pages.

PPS. too bad Gloria and Delonte used birth control. Such genes...

Yeah but then you got a month full of free agency rumors to contend with.

Eh whatever. I doubt free agency this year has much effect on the future of our franchise.

This draft is one of the more important drafts in our franchise's history. We must avoid botching our chance at Kyrie's sidekicks. You could point back to the 2004 draft as a huge reason LeBron ultimately left.

How tall is this 10 year old? Wingspan?

I am finding myself more interested in seeing the Cavs not over-reaching during free agency, than worrying about who we do sign. Obviously any free agent signings are important but if they're going to make a mistake, I would rather it be on the conservative side. I'd rather not see aggressive, overpaying, big-money moves when free agency rolls around.

This draft, on the other hand....important!

Is this thread for real?

Is this question for real? I thought it was pretty obvious I was reacting to the existence of a 2013 draft thread, a few days before this draft. But to ensure it wasn't serious I added the PS and especially the PPS.

Note to self: no more attempts at sarcasm.

You mean pull a Spurs and suck for just one year out of 25, securing our dynasty for another decade and a half because we'll draft one of the best players of all time? Sure. :chuckles:
