2019 Potential Free Agency Targets

That is so true. Collins is very very good but he mental checks out and gives little to no effort too many times. If he actually played hard consistently he's worth every penny we pay him. But he doesn't

A real shame that Ogunjobi has been limited this year. Really prevents us from knowing how much more talent we need to bring inside pressure along the DL.

Very intrigued with the upcoming offseason. With a often fractured Steelers locker room, Hue Jackson's bungling Bengals, and an aging Ravens team, the division is wide open for the taking. Given Dorsey, cap space, and our youth coupled with a successful second half of the season I've got to believe we'll be a desirable FA destination. Success begets success.

It really doesn’t. There’s a glaring hole next to him that needs to be filled. We know he can get pressure we just need another DT who can do anything on a constant basiss.

How are the Ravens aging? They have 10 players over the age of 27. That includes the punter, kicker, and the QB they have moved on from

Sure Weddle, Suggs, Carr, and Yanda are over 30, but for the most part that’s a young up and coming team that’s going to be a problem defensively for a while

And Browns fans count out the Steelers every year. They aren’t just going to lay down and die. They have a HOF QB and a top 5 WR of all time. One of the best offensive lines in the league. And their #2 receiver is a number 1 receiver on most teams.

I think we will be right in the thick of the North Hunt next year, but let’s not act like it’s going to be the Browns and a bunch of 3-7 win teams in the division

We need another competent DT. The question is whether we need a Pro Bowl level talent there.

For the most part, teams can't afford multiple Pro Bowlers at the same position - DT in this case. So...exactly how good is Ogunjobi?

Would have been nice to see a healthy Larry playing next to a healthy Garrett, so we'd gave a better idea of what we already have.

Also, DT is a statistically safe position to draft - i.e., they bust less frequently than most other positions - but they also rarely become elite contributors. It just depends what the team is looking for.

Your point about Ogunjobi is dead accurate. If we view him as a long-term piece then it becomes risky to draft another DT in the first round.

Yeah but Q. Williams and Oliver are just different dudes. Put them on the line next to Larry, Myles, and Ogbah and they'll wreck shit.

Both will go in the top-10. Way out of range. And historically odds are that both will be very good players but not stars. Though, I agree, both look like future superstars.

Agreed on Baltimore especially since they are playing as well as any team in the league since Jackson took over who as we know is only a rookie, but the Steelers are closing in on the end of their run. Ben has been threatening to retire at any offseason, and outside of their receivers, they are declining.

If not next year, soon the battle for AFC North supremacy will be Cleveland vs Baltimore, and even if not wide open, it is exciting to think we have for sure passed Cinci, and soon we should pass Pittsburg.

Wouldn’t mind bringing back Shelton next year on the cheap. He hasn’t worked out in NE but he could be good depth guy for us. We need someone next to Larry o to defend the run.

Shelton is trash.

And that sucks, because he has the potential to be so much more.
