So I just want to say congrats, and I'm proud of everybody involved with the Cavs organization.
I thought we would be a much improved team, but I didn't realize that, when healthy, this is a very good team. A contender.
This was not a veteran team that snuck into the play in.
This was a very young team that is only in the play-in because of their own injuries.
Mobley may be a transendent player. Garland ans Allen are All-Stars.
The future is bright.

Let's go Cavs!

Caris is averaging 20.7 ppg, 5.9 apg, and 5.2 rpg while shooting 44% from three on 5+ 3PA per game in his 9 playoff games. Let's hope we get that as bare minimum vs. Brooklyn while DG and Mobley crank it up.

My only disappointment for this season was that around the trade deadline I feared that if one of the bigs got injured that we were too thin up front to compete… Didn’t anticipate both…

But yea it would have been cool to have gotten some depth at that point…

Other than that I’d say it’s been a strong step in the right direction….

I think okoro always plays kyrie well, but am looking for some scoring from that position too.

Indeed. As I've said earlier – you can play Kyrie well on single coverage and make him work for his points, but he's impossibe to stop. The guy may be the best 1-on-1 player in the world. He's gonna get his.

The real key is getting offensive production from the guy guarding Irving. That's the ONLY way you can turn yourself into a plus in this matchup. Defense is not enough, even very good defense.

That's the reason Okoro hurts this team so much when he guards these big-time scorers. People need to realize that no 6'4'' guy with bad length can survive in the league as just a defender. Certainly not as a starter, and not at the SG spot.

Goodwin isn’t any more of a scoring threat than Okoro and he’s a way worse defender.

Goodwin is a great emergency option, but our guard rotation is healthy right now, and he’s not in it.
Our guard rotation is healthy?? Since when?

We have a guy starting at SG who cannot score. That alone is a disaster.

Garland and Rondo are going to take all the PG minutes and Goodwin isn’t capable of playing alongside either of them.

Okoro really has nothing to do with Goodwin, but if you really want to make the comp; Goodwin isn’t even a better scorer than Okoro. They’re both low volume, and Okoro was more efficient.

Not really talking about Goodwin.

The guard rotation as a whole is totally broken, though. Rondo remains awful and his geriatric ass really shouldn't be getting any meaningful minutes in the play-in if we can avoid it. Okoro is a joke at SG and I'm really not sure what position LeVert is supposed to be playing these days. Mostly it just looks like the "I'm waiting for the ball to rotate to me" position.

Priority #1 for next season is to find a real starting shooting guard not named Okoro, LeVert or Sexton. That's worth giving up a rotation guy or two. Maybe even Allen.

If you’re not talking about Goodwin then why the hell are you responding to me?

My entire post was about how Goodwin shouldn’t get minutes in the play-in game.

Question for the stats nerds...do the stats from the play-in games count as regular season games, playoff games, or exhibition games (where the stats aren’t counted at all)?

Cavs are 3-8 in their last 11 games, the 3 wins are against the Knicks without Randle, the Magic who rested their starters the entire 4th qtr and yesterday against the Bucks JV squad. Getting Allen back will help but to say that i don't have much hope is an understatement.

We were missing a ton of guys during that stretch as well, and just got most of them back in the last few days.

Without Allen, I expect to compete and possibly win. With Allen, I expect to win.
