I will be curious to see how deep the rotation goes on Tuesday and to see if JB keeps Okoro in the starting lineup.

My hope is its:

Garland
LeVert
Mark
Mobley
Allen

Okoro
Love
Stevens (Durant stopper)
Playoff Rondo (For the 5 minutes Garland rests)
For Garland, I'd give him the Jordan treatment: two minutes rest at the end of quarter, two minute at the start of the fourth, he plays the rest of the time.

I still remember Phil Jackson using Jordan that way.

Cavs fan from Italy here, I would want to spend my first post in this forum (which I've read since Amar'e Safari times...never posted because of my terrible english!) now...I think it's a very refreshing feeling to play one or two "Playoff atmosphere" games, with a core of such a tremendous upside in the future...It will be a learning experience for them.

Personally I think no one expect us to go past the Nets, especially without JA, so we have no pressure for that game and it's a good thing because we can go full "underdog mode". The possible second game will be even more challenging for such a young team, but I'm optimistic.

So I think the approach should be "have fun, then we'll see". Hopefully I can add to this one/two play-in nights other four (or maybe more...who knows) sleepless Playoff nights, watching Cavs basketball.

I mentioned this elsewhere. But my guess is the Cavs made a decision to hold JA out of the Nets game because if we do manage to beat them it puts us right into a game on Sunday, which is 6 additional days for JA to get some strength, dexterity, and reduced level of pain in his injured hand. If we lose then I'll bet anything that JA will be on the floor for the Friday play-in game, with the benefit of 3-4 extra days rehab time for his hand injury.

So that means if we can win one more game without Allen, we can get the full roster for the playoffs?

We were a 4 seed type with everyone healthy, so let's see if they can push whoever they play in the playoffs and try to upset them!

Damn. If we lose the two play-ins, we really have to wait until October to see this unit play again.

Not to mention that these may be the last Cavs games for LeVert.

Don't know about this, JA has been out so long that an extra 2 days of rehab isn't going to make a big difference. Tonight is must win and if he can't go i'd be surprised if he goes Thursday eve. Sounds like he still isn't using his left hand much to catch balls, thats pretty problematic.

At that point they should have a quality backup PG again, as well as Sexton back on the court.
Definitely excited to see this team grow, mature and move forward. The exciting part is the internal growth can be substantial. Mobley alone is enough to get excited for.

1) At this stage of rehab after the splint comes off and they're working on pain management, strength and dexterity, every single day makes a difference.
2) Tonight is not must win. Friday (not Thursday) IS the must win game.
3) There are reports that he was using his left hand the last time out, just very limited. As I said, every single day of rehab makes a difference at this point.
4) My main point is that JA probably would play tonight if tonight was the actual elimination game. It's not. I'm saying they made the calculated decision that IF the Cavs could somehow pull off an upset tonight then that gives JA an additional 6 days until Sunday, which would be huge. If we lose he still gets an extra 3-4 days until Friday, which is significant when he's making progress every single day at this point.

Everyone is counting this team out. Would love for the Cavs to win and shut them all up

A few games ago, the Hawks beat the Nets, despite KD and Kyrie combining for 86 points. If I were JBB, I’d make my guys stay home with the shooters and play those 2 guys straight up, no double teaming. If they’re gonna make iso contested, fadeaway mid range shots 1 on 1, let them go ahead. The Cavs defense has been breaking down with this nebulous, undisciplined overhelping and giving up high percentage shots to good shooters, cutters, etc. Just let KD and Kyrie get theirs and nobody else.

The Nets beat us off of second chance points and our inability to hit the 3. If we can rebound like we're supposed to and get some 3s from Love and Markk, we'll have a chance. This is the game where JA is we really needed. Still pissed he won't patch that shit up and go.
