I'm not a fan of Caris Levert for this particular team.

I'm in belief that the Cavs need 3&D players. One that can defend players very well at the point of attack and real high efficiency players to surround Mobley and Allen. He is not it.

I'll have to wait to see what the Cavs gave up.

I don't think the Cavs need those 40 scoring outbursts. They don't need streaky, low efficiency scoring overall...they need balanced offense and defense. They need to make the pieces work rather than look for a workaround for some of the offensive woes. Clearly the offensive struggle is because of spacing and not else. If they fixed that, things would open up tremendously. Especially for Garland and Mobley.

Let's see how Garland works with Levert. He likes to call his own number and I believe Garland needs to call his own. For example, if you want to share ballhandling duties with another lead guard, you want a guard who is a very capable passer so Garland could thrive off the ball. I don't think LeVert is that.

I think our own 1st should have been sufficient for a player of such caliber. This draft is full of wings that fit that archetype and we could have moved up to snatch one who would match on a cheap contract. What now? Is he really your long term answer? I say no. Even if he plays his ass off this season.

Honestly, when I see "second rounder" in any trade package, my brain translates it as "filler". We still have a late first selection in Windler that we have done nothing with.
