2021 NFL Draft - Call Your Shot

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I think the Browns trade out of round 1.

Eat That Ass: A trade up wouldn't surprise me either. I just don't see them staying in the 20's.

I am calling my shot, The Browns stay in the first and pick at 26, but make 3 other trades during the draft.

1) The Browns will either trade up for a CB or stay put for a WR.

2) The Browns will end up with at least three of these players:

1. Gregory Rousseau, Edge, University of Miami
2. Tyson Cambell, CB, Georgia
3. Jay Tufele, DL, USC
3. Amari Rodgers, WR, Clemson
4. Robert Rochelle, CB, Central Arkansas
4. Tony Fields II, LB, WVU
5. Tommy Doyle, OT, Miami University

He's an LB without positional versatility so he's pretty much crossed off. There's a lot of data that this front office just doesn't value LB that highly, I think Phillips was Berry's highest drafted LB and he was a 3rd round pick.

If they take Davis in the 1st, they must think he's a surefire superstar to go against their draft guidelines like that.
How is he not versatile have you seen his sideline to sideline speed ? this kid does have superstar potential imo.

Browns take Tyson Campbell at 26th
Browns trade up in the second to get a DE that's fallen (Tryon, Ojulari, Basham Jr.)
Browns take one player from Ohio State

The Browns trade up in the first and down in the second.
Browns acquire a 2022 2nd rounder or a 3rd from a historically bad team.
Its JOK or a big surprise on Thursday night, maybe a wr?
Two cb's and a safety by the end, a IL like Williams that they fall for.
Bernie Kosar will look remarkably sober during analysis videos.

I'm fairly confident on all but the last of these, but you wanted an "out there" guess.

Despite Kevin Costner's best efforts, the Browns will NOT take a LB in the 1st round.
They will if the BPA is a LB at 26 and given the odds that is exactly the range for the last of the tier 1 LBs it's pretty reasonable that they in fact will draft one of Davis or Collins

I don’t believe they rate the position high enough to select one in the first round, period. So I would be surprised if they view them as BPA at 26.

You can argue with everyone on this board as much as you want, but there's a lot of data at this point that the Browns and other analytics front offices don't value LB highly at all. The last few years Berry has both let LBs leave in FA (Schobert), get by with paying a minimal amount to the LB room (Eagles 2019, Browns 2020), and the highest pick for Berry was Phillips with a mid 3rd.

Picking any LB in the first round, particularly one who can't play the slot in the pass game like JOK, would be a major shock.

I get the history lesson, and yeah he lined up in the box 463 snaps vs 119 in the slot last season. He was used effectively but his full ability has not been tested. He can imo far exceed any concerns due to less tape in coverage. He proved he has the freak athletic upside to become an elite LB running a 4.37 40 (100th PCTL)at 234 lbs. a 42" vert(100th PCTL) and an 11' broad (99th PCTL). another season as a starter and he is a top 10 lock. If they don't take him it's cause he gone already if they know whats good for 'em.

we shall see I dont expect them to pick for positional value but player value this is 26 not 7

I'm fairly sure players play positions.

Despite what underwear olympic numbers people post at pro days, you have to produce on the field.

I'm willing to bet that both Zaven Collins and JOK are somewhere on our board. I'm not sure either will be the BPA at 26. I'm not sure either will even make it to 26. I'd feel comfortable placing a bet that Collins goes well before our pick.

I know you love Jamin, but I just don't see it. I bet we have a third round grade on him.

I'll give you this a late first round pick and not a top 10 pick so they may be open to LB but I don't think it changes the calculus much. If there are players of relatively equal value they are going to choose CB, DL, Edge, QB, OT over LB.
