2022 Minor League Week 21 Games Thread (8/23 - 8/28/22)

The CLE full season affiliates had a rough Friday night going 1-3 with a -10 run diff.
So on the week the group is now 9-7 with a +2 run diff.
Now onto Saturday games to see if the group can return to its overall winning ways.

Buffalo has been beating up on our AAA rotation this week.
Tuesday Curry 3.2 innings 7 hits 8 runs 6 ER. 3 BB. 2 K
Wednesday Pilkington 5 innings. 8 hits 6 runs 6 ER 2 BB 4 K
Thursday Allen 0,2 inning. 4 hits 5 runs 5 ER. 2 BB. 0 K
Friday Gaddis 2.2 innings 0 hits. 3 runs 3 ER 4 BB 3 K.

Battenfield goes tonight, coming of being the league’s Pitcher of the Week last week.

Since Cleveland switched their AAA affiliation from Buffalo to Columbus after 2008, the Bisons have, for some reason, owned the Clippers, winning around 70% of the time. This week, despite the starters’ struggles, we’ve split the first four contests.

Went to the clippers game again tonight. Much more enjoyable than on Tuesday lol!

Brennan a two-run homer and three-run triple, plus a single. Nolan Jones 3-4 with a homer and walk. The much-maligned Ernie Clement had two excellent defensive plays and a beautiful bunt single. Bo Naylor 1-3 with two walks and a steal of third.

Battenfield threw 98 pitches to get through 4.2 innings. Only gave up one run. A “workmanlike“ outing.

Well the Sunday games are conclude & the CLE affiliates had an OUTSTANDING day going 4-0 with a +17 tun diff.
On the week the group went 15-9 with a +26 run diff.

For those interested, the 4 full season teams of the CLE group entered the week at 49 games OVER .500 & had a +228 run diff.
That was good for 4th among the 30 parent organizations trailing Tampa By (84 over), LA Dodgers (53 over) and Minnesota (50 over).

As for others in the AL Central Detroit was 9th (33 over), ChiSox were 28th (57 games under) and Kansas City was dead last (at 72 games under 500).
