This offseason begins in the way we all thought it would...

Look for the manager "issue" to be solved before any roster moves are made.

The organization has been operating under the assumption that Tito will be gone for a while now.

I suspect we'll have our manager before Halloween--unless we have a preferred candidate who is still on a team that's alive in the postseason.

1. Extend Josh Naylor. They should backup the Brinks truck on this guy now that he can hit lefties and is a very good 1B.

2. Trade Shane for a top 50 prospect ideally an outfielder or another promising SP prospect who can start the year at AA or AAA. Developing and trading SP's is the lifeblood of this org so getting a pitcher back for Shane wouldn't hurt.

3. Figure out the SS/2B situation. I am in the camp of moving Gimenez to SS and letting Freeman and Rocchio battle for 2B while Arias goes to RF where he looked good last year. Having said all of that they have to explore the trade value of Freeman. There has to be some team that could use a pro ready table setting 2B for the next five years.

4. Add a BC. Now that we have Bo catcher isn't too big of a worry. Backup catchers don't determine seasons.

It's a shame the backstop renovations aren't coming until the next offseason. It's wild how fast our backstop went from looking nice and open to just a green wall of Progressive advertisements.

No one is trading a top50 prospect for Bieber.

Is there a rule in MLB that a candidate can't be interviewed if they are working for a team that's in the postseason?

Have to believe that the dearth of quality SP's will bring the return for Bieber, if offered by the Guardians, what they want or no deal will be consummated.

Agree that a Top 50 prospect (RHH/Lefty Mashing OF'er) would be a tall order with Bieber coming into the 2023/2024 off season with only two starts.... But, the consideration/packaging of Freeman with the "Biebs" for a top 50 and what may become Bieber's replacement is not out of order.. not at all..

Ideally... SF Giants, St Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles and LA Dodgers all have a pair what would satisfy this scenario to the letter.. and then some...

Thoughts?
