Haven't read through the thread but the Cavs lost momentum twice with Mitchell out and Garland running the point and making bonehead decisions. In fact, Garland dribbles too damn much for my taste and gets himself in difficult situations because of making bad decisions. Seems to me that Garland does not get Mitchell involved when he's running the point but it's the reverse with Mitchell running the point. Anyone else see this?I can live with George missing shots in a virtually blow out game. He has shown from the regular season that he also has a stretch where he shoots almost 60 percent from three. Need that moving forward.
Garland, though, damn. Those TOs are really his trademark for all the wrong reasons.
His approach needs to change. He is not an explosive and strong guard to take guys off the dribble. He should hunt for those threes and use that gravity to attack.
That good albeit limited stretch in that game should be his blueprint moving forward. When he starts to aimlessly dribble and penetrate is when all the TOs/bad shots happen.
