2023-24 Season | Game #25 | Cavs @ Celtics | Dec. 14, 2023 | 7:30 p.m. | NBA-TV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bleh. As close as the Cavs kept the score, in winning time they played like they expected to lose, like they never had a chance. Numbers aside, it seemed like everyone underperformed except for LeVert.

The other team has a say in that. We're not the Warriors.
Not really. DG passes up lots of open 3s for layups.

Matter fact, DG shot 7 3s this game. I'm pretty sure he can get at least 8 off.

About to be on a three game losing streak. One game above .500.

Just feels too late to fix anything. Players appear checked out and thinking about other things. Thanks FO.
Besides JA they didn’t seem checked out.

Overmatched maybe.

Celtics are the better team when we’re at full strength. Without Mobley it’s even more pronounced.

I guess I'm trying to figure out the crowd who both thinks most of these players are really good AND the coach is solid reasons why the team is currently extremely average in basically every metric.

If the players are good and the coach is adequate...results should show something here?

It's one or the other. Maybe it's both.

I'm still look at Garland as a not-quite-great but fairly decent PG. But not a max guy. Or at least he hasn't played like one yet.

Disagree.

Celtics at full strength are too much for the Cavs at first strength

Without Mobley? Forget about it

Some like only having two real bigs (Niang is not a big and TT/Wade are matchup pieces)

We need to end up with a real third big and a real true SF

Not sure how to get a good SF without dealing Mitchell
Fire JBB - hire Budenholzer

Trade Mitchell (he’s not staying here long term) for Bridges and Claxton (not sure if Brooklyn does this but I can dream)

Problems solved

Mikal Bridges is going NOWHERE

Brooklyn might want to pair Mitchell with him. Not for him.

The very best deal you’d get from BKN, after much haggling, is Cam Johnson, and some combo platter from Dinwiddie, O’Neal, and Finney-Smith. Maybe a couple picks

Score may have been close late, but never once felt like the Cavs had a chance. Celtics can get a good shot whenever they want to work for it.

Strus has stunk in 3 of the last 5 during this tough stretch. Okoro is not getting better. Niang is inconsistent. Allen appears to just be along for the ride the majority of the time.

Obviously, Mobley getting healthy is a must for this team to do anything, but they really need a long wing with some versatility.

Disagree.
I think effort was mostly still there.

But on second thought, once Garland was knocked out early in the third and LeVert established scoring his way, not much action came Strus or Niangs way and when it did, the few shots were missed.

So I don’t think there was much “quit” in the team but I get what you’re saying about “checked out” for a few of the players.

I wonder what Koby is thinking right now, if he even see's this team as terribly coached
Probably Boston is an incredibly awesome team, tough to beat on the road while playing 3 games in 4 days on the road and playing Boston back to back without Mobley and Boston being fully rested. Probably also thinking this team needs to get healthy and they have a great opportunity to get on a winning streak? Maybe?

got a good shot of playing the knicks in the play-in tourney

At this point we look like a lotto team

Yeah you can always find excuses for any team, the NBA schedule is hard (would be harder in the West) and teams get injuries, would you say they're well coached?
