I dont know what to say. This was honestly a game I think we had no business being competitive in let alone winning. Things were looking grim after the first half. Then, everything flipped. Gotta give major props to JBB for changing up the scheme on Luka. There is a blueprint to defend him (when Kyrie isnt playing) that Minny used a few weeks ago. We repeated it here but with much worse personnel. Take the ball out of his hands and force the other Mavs to beat you.

Solid effort by guys up and down. Wade was a bit quieter today but strong defensive effort. TT solid as usual. Niang was equal parts terrifying drives and some buttery smooth 3s. Strus had a solid all-around game even with eh shooting. Emoni showed some nice passes which bodes well for the longterm.

Gotta give special shout-outs to a few guys:

CPJ is a monster. This dude is so talented. I dont think we should fire sale either DM or DG, but there is no excuse to not try to get a big wing now. We have our 3rd guard and he is going to get a triple double soon. 12 boards! what an all around game from him

Okoro stepped up huge on offense. He hit some big 3s to start the game and kept up the pressure with his driving game. Great defense on Luka too.

Caris made up for that muddy first half with an incredible MJ impression in the 2nd. Its not sustainable, but I am not complaining about the results tonight. He was awesome in the fourth and also did a good job vs Luka.

But the real shoutout is to Allen tonight. He was massive in every way. All over the boards. Showed a bunch of different flips, hooks, and dunks on offense. But none of that matches what he did on defense. How many bigs can go 1v1 against Luka Doncic and come out on top on defense? He did this multiple times tonight plus that final trap to seal it. Just a monster monster game from Jarrett and might be the best individual game I have seen him play. We are not trading this guy for a bag of peanuts. He is really good, and he and Mobley will figure this shit out. They can work together.

When the guys play TEAM OFFENSE and TEAM DEFENSE we can get this done even with the missing guys.

We didn’t just win the 50-50 balls. We won the 40-60 and 30-70 balls. I know people shade JBB because he emphasizes effort but look what that got us tonight.
