2023-24 Season | Game #37 | Cavs vs Nets @ Paris | Jan. 11, 2024 | 2:00 p.m. | NBA-TV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm confused why being a UDFA rookie has anything to do with this. Why is the Cavs best healthy PG who has shown to be very good not playing, especially when you watch the shit show lineup JBB just sent out there
Did you read my post and think I’m supporting CPJ not getting regular minutes is a good idea or not worthy of criticism?

Because that’s not what I said?

And why did I bring up him being a UDFA? Because context matters.

In a vacuum, not playing a UDFA rookie regular minutes is not a fireable offense.

In a vacuum, not playing a super star franchise player making 45M a year while consistently being an All Star would indeed be a fireable offense unless there were crazy mitigating circumstances that the full organization understood and supported

This is closer than what it should be

Context does matter and the better player should be playing.....

Welp, we have officially entered into the hero ball all the time phase of the game. Freaking great.

Two teams playing w/o a point guard for no good reason other than stupidity wondering why their 4th quarter offenses look so stagnant and stale.

EDIT: And that was a massive walk by Mitchell he got away with.

that's fine. but you just typed "UDFA rookie" again, as if that somehow excuses the Cavs of mismanaging their player just because other teams have done it.

i would be interested in not putting that label over and over again on Porter because it sounds like a way to take the coach and GM off the hook.

they are on the hook with their young player, however they acquired him.
I typed it again because it does matter.

Any coach not playing an UDFA rookie regular minutes, in a vacuum, is not a fireable offense

Any coach not playing an All NBA player on a max contract regular rotation minutes, in a vacuum, is a fireable offense with out extreme mitigating circumstance

In both cases, “ in a vacuum” mean the act of not playing the player regular minutes, irregardless of all other pluses and minuses that coach brings to the table

What I’m saying is not controversial nor is. It defending “our” coach

As soon as they put Merrill in the corner the lane opens up. Too much empty corner sets this quarter
