The fact that Mobley is on a minutes restriction (as Fedor reports) almost guarantees he will be eased back into the rotation. Either he won't start or he will be in something like the proposal on the board a few days ago where he plays in short bursts - e.g., he starts, is the first sub out, and then comes in when Allen goes out, and goes out when Allen comes in etc, possibly skipping a few rotations in and out in both halves for Damian Jones. The real question with respect to his usage might be whether he is playing PF or C.

They blocked eight shots against Boston Saturday, often ambushing a shooter by having another defender come up behind him unseen.

I agree Allen should have the advantage over Plumlee and Theis. If Mobley plays he will have the height advantage over Leonard or George, and if he comes off the bench he will have the advantage over the 6'7" Amir Coffey. But Mobley will be very rusty so I don't think he will help the Cavs tonight except on defense and rebounding.

Even if Mobley was at his absolute best, on our offensive end, its still enormous advantage Clippers with either PG3 or Leonard guarding him. Mobley is pretty limited and those two guys are elite defenders with strength, length, and experience. I agree totally that if he's going to be a positive for us, it will be on the defensive end.

For a limited time, JBB has a oppurtunity to see how Mobley spelling Allen looks like without having to worry about bruising ego's.

If they both start then I think he fumbled the oppurtunity and it might even signify that JBB isn't planning of having one or the other on the floor at all times and limiting their minutes together.

IMHO, tonight will be very telling on how they plan to use the Mobley/Allen combo going forward

If JBB really is rolling with Mitchell-Strus-Okoro-Mobley-Allen I fully expect Lue will pack the paint and live with the results.

Cavs have to limit fouls, win the glass, and move the ball without turning it over.

I try very hard not to get my hopes up about a regular season game….but tonight is one I have cleared my schedule and very excited to see if the cavs play sharp against a strong team playing so well.

If Mitchelll doesnt play or is hampered by the groin then this isn't much of a test to see how the Cavs stack up with one of the best in the west

Tough game. They are more experienced, more talented and have a vastly superior coach. I just hope we don't see the team revert back to old habits

Why do people continue to talk about this staggering of minutes? In the past, the Cavs have almost ALWAYS had at least one of Mobley or Allen on the floor at all times. This won't change in the future.
