That lineup would have Okoro on Harden, Mobley/Wade on Leonard, and Strus on Paul George, I would expect. That last pairing will be the problem. If JBB really is rolling with Mitchell-Strus-Okoro-Mobley-Allen I fully expect Lue will pack the paint and live with the results.
More experienced and more talented, yes, but they are playing their 3rd game in four days on the road. The Cavs are younger, deeper, and more rested. The wild cards are Mitchell (will his groin limit him or keep him out altogether?) and Mobley (will he screw up the good thing we've got going).Tough game. They are more experienced, more talented and have a vastly superior coach. I just hope we don't see the team revert back to old habits
The defense tonight is going to be the key. First, and very obviously, we need to play good defense to keep them from scoring. But we also need our defense to lead to offense. They have some very good defenders and we don't want this team getting their defense set in the halfcourt. Also, because of age, schedule, and style, they would love to play this game slow. It's to our advantage to speed it up. But it is nearly impossible to speed the game up if they force us to take the ball out of the net all night long. Get stops and make those old, tired legs get up and down the court. That lineup would have Okoro on Harden, Mobley/Wade on Leonard, and Strus on Paul George, I would expect. That last pairing will be the problem.
My view is if we can just score more points than the Clippers we have a great chance at winning the game..just my humble opinion.
There not a coach out there that would bench Mobley in places of Wade, You start the 2 bigs, then stagger them from that point…..
Defins wins championships they used to say. Nows it's all 3 is worth more than 2 and you know how that went. Let's hope our unicorn can hit a few 3s and stretch the floor.90's NBA was hold the opponent to scoring less than you...but now, its score more than the other guy. I know it was a joke, but there is substance behind that joke.
Agreed, but if Mobley returned from injury shooting 35% on 4 3PA per game, I would be equal parts astonished and elated. Mobley is, unfortunately, shooting 20% on 0.5 3PA per game this season.Mobley launching more 3's is very much needed. He needs to take them until he is comfortable. He practices 3's, I am sure he hits them at a decent amount unguarded. If he cant take 4 or so a game, even if only at 35% its a game changer, the spacing as we see with Wade becomes incredible. Mobley playing the Okoro role in the corner and making cuts to the basket is so much more effective.
I hope JBB is learning, i am doubtful, but things are better with only 1 non shooter on the floor...2 at most, but you can never start Allen, Okoro and Mobley together right now. Ad Merrill is a momentum changer, no matter what he needs his 20 minutes a game.
I'm not sure why people are clamoring for Mobley to shoot threes after being out for 6 weeks. But hey, whatever floats your boat!
