2023-24 Season | Game #55 | Cavs @ 76ers | Feb. 23, 2024 | 7:30 p.m. | ESPN

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Cavs this season, according to bball ref, are 4 points per 100 possessions better than their opponent with Garland ON the court. That's good.

They are 7 points per 100 possessions better with him OFF the court.

Therein lies the issue when people just use net rating. Lots of players have positive net ratings when the team is really good. The question is, is the team even better when they are off the court? And the answer this season is, yes, they are.

Garland is a career 15 PER player. He's a 15 PER player this year.

He's being paid 40 million dollars. He has to be more than the above.

He is unfortunately not what we thought he was. Really disappointing.
Extremely disappointing. His defense and size have always been a liability but his scoring and offensive orchestrations have more than offset that in the past . He spoke about watching how well the team was playing without him and needed to work in and build on that ….and while Rome wasn’t built in a day, he’s had more than sufficient time. The pace hasn’t been the same, his decision making has declined from prior seasons and for some strange reason his handle doesn’t seem as good or perhaps he’s just trying to go into too many double teams

Leverts horrible game will divert attention from Mobleys stinker. 8 points, zero assists, four turnovers, one block. Some nice rebounds. But he is not showing any signs of becoming the man

Say your prayers before bed that Mitch extends here. A Garland, Mobley, Allen core is not nearly as sexy as we thought two years ago.

If Mitchell extends we can put the best role players around him and then break up the “core” to get another good player

Way to go John Blair

Nah...he's not exempt from justifiable criticism. In fact he should be facing the brunt of it. It's been the same song and dance with lack of feel for the game and his rigidity.
What did you want him to feel tonight?

lolololololololololol

Our bench was 5-23. DG, Allen, Struss, all played well enough to win this game.

Looks like mitchell is out with no "letemknow" tweet thus far. Will JBB:

-Give Merrill 20+ minutes?
-Have a quick hook for levert and Niang if they aren't doing what we need them to do
-Allow Porter consitent minutes as backup PG

If he does 2 of these things, they win.

Wow great fucking call, including the implicit sense that JBB might not do the obvious

Friendly reminder the NBA is a really long season that consists of ups and downs. Cleveland is a top team in the league... Need to get Don back on the court and play through this down part. They have some easy games coming up to help prepare them for the Knicks and Celtics games...

I just don't see him wanting to extend here. He's going to be 28 at the start of next season.
