Bengals once again looked abysmal. Are they just bad right now?

That week 4 game against the Ravens could be absolutely massive, but the state of the North is very interesting. I think tonight is almost a must win for the Browns heading into a tough out next week against TEN but really to set up a matchup where the Browns can take control of the division with a monster win over the Ravens in 2 weeks.

A pretty crazy stat from that Bengals game yesterday is they only had 7 possessions, in part due to the punt return touchdown. They had 8 in the 1st half last week.

And 4 of their final 5 drives ended in the red zone- 2 TDs, 1 FG, and 1 INT

To me, the big story from that game is Burrow reaggravating his calf. Bad news for the Bengals if he's battling that all season.

The biggest problem for the Bengals that few are talking about is their run defense looks awful.

I can’t believe this team is going to have played half their division slate for the season in the first four weeks.

Amazing chance to either run out in front of the pack… or fall into an early hole.

To win the division I think we have to go at the very least 4-2 in division games. Gotta sweep someone, and Pittsburgh should be the easiest one. If we sweep them and at least split with Baltimore and Cinci I think we should be in a good spot.

These are all big if's though - I hate to be the guy bringing up ghosts of season's past, but I think there is a mental hurdle when we play in Pittsburgh. The way the fans and media talk about it, it cannot help but to seep into the minds of our players to some degree. Win tonight like we are supposed to and we will have a leg up on everyone but Baltimore. Take care of Baltimore in week 4, we are officially in the driver's seat.

I'd love to see this team take control of the division for once instead of hoping the rest of the teams lose and things fall our way.

Yes, I agree--the Browns struggle and just can't win in Pittsburgh.

Fuck outta here with that weak-ass shit. This is the 2023 Super Bowl, Super Browns train baby! Stop wallowing in your misery and hop on board!

Well yes, we did win that game. I guess I should have specified and said there seems to be a mental block when we play in Pittsburgh in front of their fans. I know I'm splitting hairs, but the new narrative the media (Cleveland media included) is spinning is we haven't won a regular season game there in 20 years. Let's hope we put an end to this narrative, and a few others, and we can finally put an end to some of these "the Browns haven't done this since XXXX" stats we keep hearing.

I'm pretty sure people like you will just find the next narrative to use.

In a few years I'm fully expecting "Yeah, but the Kenny Pickett era doesn't count"

And yes I'm aware that you're not "creating" these--you're just telling us what you hear... and I'm saying that's exactly the point.

You won't hear that shit from me. If the rest of the football world counts those Steeler wins against Bruce Gradkowski, Colt McCoy, Thad Lewis, and DeShone Kizer then I'm sure as hell going to count our wins against their scrubs.

Do you think there's a chance you would say "People in the media are saying we haven't beaten them at home with a decent QB in 16 years. I want to go in there, win, and erase that narrative"?

Bengals fan base are in a complete meltdown, literally fighting amongst themselves. There's pandemonium in the streets of Cincinnati right now.

I mean it was a really well done headbutt.
