2023 Game #4 | #6 Ohio State @ #9 Notre Dame | September 23, 2023 @ 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is what I'm saying about that final run.

It was against 10 men and no down lineman on the left side of the line and we got 6 inches barely.

Our shirt yardage is dog shit and has been for years.

That's harsh, but you're right, he should have walked in on that play.

Really?

The play is to get a yard and it succeeded.

Why didn't Chip get to walk it in?

Because the ND edge grabbed him from behind.

Why was he able to grab him? It's because he was unblocked.

Why was he unblocked? Because from being lined up that far outside, he doesn't need to be accounted for. He can't make the play before the runner gets that one yard.

Complaining that he didn't walk it in untouched is just stupid. It's like complaining that a perfectly executed sacrifice squeeze bunt to walk it off in the bottom of the ninth wasn't a home run.

The player was unblocked because that's the design. The design worked.

that final drive was amazing but McCord’s throwing motion looks so awkward to me. I don’t know if it’s side armed and it doesn’t looo slow, but it’s odd to me. He almost looks like he’s biffing something at someone but it’s cool because you saw what he’s capable of. It isn’t too often a new starter comes out on top of those situations. Super proud of him and the players.

That is a huge fucking win. I would put it as one of the biggest regular season non big ten wins in sometime and since I graduated in 2004. I am pumped for this team, Day and McCord... Going into South Bend on Saturday Night with an inexperienced QB vs a heavily experienced QB and getting a win has to get everyone excited and move past this Fire Day Crap...

Man, last night was truly an instant classic.

Especially that final drive, my lord. That will go down in Buckeye lore. Buckeye nation needs to come up with a term for it so it can have a Wikipedia page alongside ‘Holy Buckeye’ and other legendary moments.

What a great game! Game highlights:

On a Tuesday, Holtz addressed Day's comments and defended his original stance on the Ohio State program.

"That's his choice. I can understand why he did," Holtz said on the on Don't @ Me with Dan Dakich podcast. "He doesn't want to talk about Michigan (because he's) 0-2. He doesn't want to talk about the big game coming up against Penn State and against Michigan again. He's a great coach. He's done a great job. He's a great offensive mind. He hired an outstanding defensive coordinator from Oklahoma State (Jim Knowles), who is doing a tremendous job for him. Ohio State is a good football team. I don't think they are a great football team. He can go after me all he wants."

"I honestly felt that Notre Dame was a better football team and more physical, and I am sorry that Coach Day was offended by it," he said. "I hope he goes on and has a wonderful year. I don't think they will be a great football team. I really don't. I felt Notre Dame (could have) won the football game."

Lous not wrong and buckeyes should have won by 14 simultaneously. They don't look great and they also had this one pretty easily but some stuff happened

Holtz is an out of touch geriatric clown. Made himself look like an asshole twice in a short period of time.
