Wasn't in love with the 3rd round picks, but day 3 was just about ideal imo. Seemed like we got a ton of value throughout, and I love picking up a young backup QB with upside in DTR.

Dr. @Jordan postured a few years ago that not drafting in round 7 allows our front office to tell several undrafted FAs that they would have chosen them if they kept the 7th rounder.

More lottery tickets. A 7th rounder will get a $3.9m contract, not including the proven performance escalators that could raise their base salary for the fourth contract year. Drop 3-5 $150-200k guarantees on UDFAs every year for more chances to hit. Better competition on the bottom of the 90 man roster before final cuts.

The drawback is fighting with 5-10 other teams for that same UDFA. Those teams can beat you either by a more promising chance of a role, money or team reputation. Maybe his agent has a better relationship with certain teams.

I liked the 7th for next year's 6th trade with the Ravens. I would have liked for the Browns to trade one of their 7ths next year to a team like the 49ers who had three late 7th rounders between 247-253 and grab a guy they really wanted.
