2023 NFL Off Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ugh 3800 yards and 33 TDs in three years is a STAR!!! He is considered a top three RB in this league behind Barkley and McCaffery. And he has done this with crappy QB play since Luck retired!
Is Kirk Cousins a top 5 QB because he threw for 4500 yards last year? Of course not. Counting stats are a terrible argument. They say more about a player's situation than their talent.

I don't see Jonathan Taylor as a top 5 back in the league.

He isn't a factor in the passing game, his acceleration/quickness isn't special. He's a big guy with good top speed, but he doesn't sniff Nick Chubb or Derrick Henry.

The reason Kirk isn’t a top five QB is because he isn’t a runner! But only MaHomes, Herbert, and Brady threw for more yards and only four other QBs threw for more TDs. Sounds like a top five QB to me. As for Taylor the last 3 years he has recorded 2020 (36 catches 300 yards) 2021 (40 catches 360 yards) and in an injury year 2022 (28 catches 143 yards). Sounds like he’s pretty good in the passing game…also because of injuries last year was the first year he did not rush for 1000 yards. Pretty much every expert has him as a top five RB. Name me five better backs! And I love Chubb but he is NOWHERE NEAR the pass catcher that Taylor is.

Brother, you aren't talking at all about JT's talents. Regurgitating coubting stats isn't an argument.

You want five better?

Chubb
CMC
Saquon
Henry
Ekeler

Oh, and Bijan is better but you probably don't want to hear that about someone who hasn't played an NFL down yet.

If you want to give accolades to the Colts rushing attack, start with Quenton Nelson

You can same the same for Chubb and his offensive line….and like I said Chubb is the better “runner” but not the better RB! Same goes for Henry!
Ekler????? The guy’s been in the league six years and has yet to rush for a 1,000 yards! You’re reaching!

Saying Barkley or JT are better than Chubb or Henry is wild
I love me some Chubb but we have to take off the homer glasses. Barkley and JT are more complete RBs. As I pointed out IMHO as a RB Chubb is the best “runner” in the league! BUT in today’s game you have to do more than just tote the ball to impact a game. You have to be a major threat out of the backfield and that’s exactly why the experts (and teams) love players like JT, CMC, Ekler, Barkley and Cook. Because they can hurt you in different ways.

Bruh, you have to learn to separate football analysts from fantasy football and other media personalities.

JT is not some terrific pass catcher, and using raw number of catches doesn't change that. Fournette caught a ton of passes--but he's a dogshit pass catcher. Najee Harris caught a bunch of passes, but he's not a good pass catcher either.

If a RB is just getting dump offs and checkdowns, they aren't a threat in the passing game. When we say RB's are a threat in the passing game, we're talking about guys who can run a route and make a play beyond the line of scrimmage.

JT is a good RB. I'd put him ahead of Dalvin Cook and behind Chubb and Henry--but he's not a top 5 back.

I’m not talking fantasy football…I’m talking football period! And by the way he does run routes and has caught plenty of passes downfield (something Chubb doesn’t do)!
But opinions vary. Let’s agree to disagree!

Uhhh no?

He had 143 yards receiving last year.

He had 210 YAC.

His average depth of target was -2.1 yards.

That's not a typo. His average depth of target was more than two yards behind the line of scrimmage.

Why would anyone agree to accept your position when it's demonstrably incorrect?

You forgot to mention he only played 11 games!

I just don't understand when the draft hype from Barkley wears off and people finally realize that Chubb is actually the far better back

And like yeah, I get it, we can talk about how the Giants suck but like the Browns are one of the worst franchises in all of sports so I'm not going to be overly sympathetic of Barkley's situation

If they swapped teams the Browns would be worse and the Giants would be better. Barkley's continued overrating every single year is mystifying to me. But he can jump over guys sometimes

I have said this over and over and I’ll repeat myself…..I think Nick is the best runner of the NFL’s RBs BUT he is as “complete” of a RB as CMC, Barkley, JT and Cook. Which is why on passing downs he is usually taken out of the game where the aforementioned backs stay in the game.
