Hopefully this series is a preview for next year, except that I doubt Giolito and Moore will be back. We got hitting contributions from all nine spots in the batting order (except when Straw, Gallagher, and Tena were in the lineup), great starting pitching, a shutdown closer when we needed one (Saturday's 2-1 win), clutch hitting late (Saturday), and good defense and base running. No weak spots except the bullpen (Eli mainly) and that can be shored up in the off-season.

Maybe we can bring Yan Gomes in for backstop duties if Chicago declines his 6 mil option.

caught a cubs game last week - gomes is their primary catcher - not sure what else they have in the system - but i would take him in a heartbeat over fry, gallagher and lavastida - seems to me we need to do a lot better at the backup catcher next season

We did try to get Gomes when he was a free agent, but the Cubs offered the extra year and I feel for them, it would be a mistake not to take his 24 option...
