2024 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Still a brand big enough that they are comfortable with their own media deal instead of joining a conference. Ohio State's matchup this season was the highest rated game of that week and the 9th of 2023 (including playoff games in January).

What's the threshold for good here? Playoff team in 21, 10 wins this last season. Championship contention tends to be a small club in college football.

They've been good but not great. I would define it as a serious threat to win the title. THey got to the title game once in the BCS I think but everyone though they were going to get smoked and they did.

Last time they were #1 in the regular season was way back in 2012 for example

"Good not great" is very fair, I might lean "great but not elite" over the last decade. Sometimes the discourse gets boiled down to "if you're not Bama, you suck" which is annoying. But now, not even Bama is Bama anymore.

Ole boy living his best life. Earned over $3 million in NIL. Has 4 years of eligibility left.

They should make a Manning college football game with just Tennessee, two generations of Ole Miss, and Texas.

Call it the ‘4 Headsman’ or something like that.

Arch Manning hasn't really participated much in NIL, outside of being paid in donations which went to some non-profit.

Lots of stories out there about it, but little actual fact. That $3m figure is his estimated valuation (aka bullshit).

That said, just sign the stupid waiver and take the $600 to be in the game. What are we doing lol?

I remember how excited a friend of mine was when the new NCAA basketball came out in the 90's and he didnt make crap. I am not hating on Arch, but it does come off very elitist.

I remember Charlie Frye coming in for NCAA midnight excited. I believe other players from akron were there too.

Didn’t he have a scare on the field during a game somewhat recently? Fuck him but hope he’s alright and well.

Michigan has won their second national title in 2 months.

Or at least I’m judging by their fans reaction to this news.

I mean... I'm not sad that he is gone. He had has some recruiting misses and has been here for 8 years. He wasn't an OSU guy, so shocked he stayed that long.
