For the "NCAA is powerless" crowd:
LSU did the exact same thing during the covid season for the 'booster stealing money from a children's hospital to pay players' scandal.They didn’t get a bowl ban for:
- Playing ineligible players
- Providing recruiting inducements
- Additional recruiting violations on 30+ prospects
- Having a player’s parent subsidize said activities
- Tampering
- Impermissible tryouts
When you read about what they were doing and the volume of infractions, similar to Tennessee……you apparently can’t get a post-season ban anymore.
“Self imposed bowl ban” during a 3-9 season. You have to laugh at this being an “accepted” portion of the punishment.
