2024 Season | Series #10 | Guardians @ Astros | Apri 30 - May 2, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Arias was applauded for his few hot streaks last year, ignoring his 79 wRC+. Meanwhile, Rocchio, now the same age, is denigrated for his 84 wRC+.

No one has applauded shit.

One guy had people crying that he was even given a chance and that we were wasting time on him. The other we were told was this sure thing, safe bet from the people who cried.

Yet their overall production through the same point are on 2 different levels to this point, but we don't want to talk about that like it's an issue and instead resort to BS personal bias opinions like their last 1000 PAs or something pulled out of our ass to make us feel good.

You people so enamored with Rocchio, yet who spent weeks on end lamenting every moment Arias got to play last year as if it was the worst decision this organization had ever made who are now throwing every excuse in the book for Rocchio's still existent MLB shortcomings remind me of the Gordon Ramsey meme.

Nobody lamented Arias being given his opportunity last season. What they lamented was the guy playing every day for 10 weeks or so stinking up the joint.

That Vogt pulled the plug on him this season was a great move and one that needed to be done. If Roccio fails to turn it around, then better give someone else a long look.

If a .234/.262/.394 stretch worth 0.5 fWAR and a 78 wRC+ last year is a guy "stinking up the joint" who was 23, why is a .214/.309/.298 stretch worth 0.1 fWAR and a 83 wRC+ from a 23-year-old means for excitement this year?

Why is it an 8.10 game, when teams have to travel. I thought Thursday games were usually afternoon games?

Never thought I'd hear you complaining about having extra time to clean your trousers

Seems like a lot of people are expecting Gimenez to get plunked for his handling of yesterdays game ending double play, that he rubbed it in just a smidge too much... Considering how often he already gets beaned... Just another day at the office.

Since Arias has been at the MLB level and played SS, do you still see him as a plus defender at short? Do you think he is still near gold glove level?

Asking only at the major league games if you can evaluate his defense for me. thanks.

Not GG caliber. But a plus defender, yes. He was a plus defender at SS last year in his brief run there.

I like how the SS usage and his usage is going currently. Rocchio can't play a position well other than SS, we saw that last year at 3B. Arias can play multiple at a passable level. It makes no sense swapping them out while you are giving Rocchio his chance in the MLB.

If Rocchio fails you'll see a change, but for how the roster is currently built Vogt is using guys to perfection.

I love Gimenez.

I did not like that.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets dotted today.

I cant believe how much I like Vogt so far. Since I am not a baseball knowledge guy like you, allot of his decisions make sense in hindsight to me. But he really seems to make smart decision after smart decision.

Even when they fail, like Gaddis blowing the win, it wasnt his fault and you can see his line of thinking. Such a smart manager, I know he is also well liked, but competence is the first thing you look for in a manager.

I’d rather have the game be over already, with the result being a win. So I could enjoy my night.

First of all that's in twice as many PA (but 5 fewer walks).

Arias had a 321 BABIP
Rocchio's is at 269

Thats 52 more BABIP points, yet still 47 fewer OBP. That about sums it up.

3.3 BB%, 33.3 K% for Arias, his nickname should be Chase Arias.

You went all season that scattered PA don't matter, just regular playing time. Arias was worse with regular playing time, because his early count see ball hit ball approach got exploited. It actually works better as PH or part time player.
