Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For some, those are the hardest three words in the English language.

Among those in the know on most topics, "I don't know, let me find out" is the quickest way to earn someone's trust.

IF we could find out we would... lol

Okay this is the idea...

Rockies need a reboot and we want to upgrade/add talent to our roster...

Cleveland gets
OF Brenton Doyle
SP Ryan Feltner
3B Kyle Karros

Rockies get
OF Valera
SS Rocchio
OF Straw
RP Tanner Burns
RP Lenny Torres

Thoughts @Gson @CDAV45 @petes999 (also Gson, no Romo isn't going to be involved since their catchers are older and likely to be traded, so humor me and look at this deal)

My thought process...

One, Laureano is gone... Doyle takes the OF spot... Valera doesn't have a spot anymore in my mind, so getting a pitcher back for him makes sense...

Now, when it comes to Rocchio, I get he's still a good prospect, but I feel like we need SP help and the choices are few and far between. Feltner has some team control and actually hasn't done bad for the Rockies, but would do better with Cleveland and his price will be high hence why I want to move Straw in the deal...

Rockies then add two at least bullpen arms back in the deal with Torres and Burns... Both likely to make their 25 team out there...

Sorry took a while to catch-up. The trade from our prospective it is not giving up a lot other than Rocchio/Valera who have kind of flamed out (prospect value wise) but from Colorado's prospective the question is why???? They are not giving up on their #3 starter when their #1 starter is Quantrill (due to same injuries we are having). Why Rocchio for them when they have Tovar and Amador in AA (more utility for them)? Maybe they prefer Brito back for 2nd. And, yes you threw in Straw as their CF which they need to replace Doyle but if they are rebuilding why are they spending money on Straw??? They have Fernandez, Beck and Veen all about ready so where does Valera fit in? And, like those three, Valera is more likely end up in the corners and not a true CF. They want SP and we took one from them and gave them back relievers.

From our prospective, we win by giving up Straw. Rocchio may be missed as our SS hole isn't filled yet and they are investing a lot of time on Rocchio this year (like they should have with Arias last year if nor for Rosario). Doyle has suddenly gone from a 20/30 FG hit grade to hitting .300, don't expect it to last. But, has power and speed .... like we wanted Benson to develop into. Just don't expect his 446 BABip to last (like Fry). Don't know much about Feltner but seems to be BOR (4th/5th) starter to me with his FB,SL,CH combo (as he is reducing his others) -- at least for cleveland (MOR for Col). But, what do I know. He has a few options left which is the type of guy we need with so many like Lively and Cookie out of options. Seems to have pitched better this year than in past. But, again, why would Colorado give up on him without a SP in return?

So my logic from Cleveland's perspective may work, but it's likely Colorado is like hell no?

Is it true that BTV now requires a paid subscription?
Man, that's ballsy for a service where values are still just an opinion.

I got lucky as a beta tester, but pretty much non beta testers are supposed to pay... I think it's a huge mistake to do it that way....

Interesting "trades I would make" from Jim Bowden in the Athletic today. Maybe a little more intriguing with the Kwan and DeLauter injuries in the past few days.

Guardians trade right-handed relievers Hunter Gaddis and Cade Smith to Orioles for RF Heston Kjerstad

The Guardians need to upgrade right field for the short- and long-term and acquiring Kjerstad, the second overall pick in the 2020 draft, would accomplish both aims. Kjerstad, 25, slashed .349/.431/.744 at Triple A this season with 10 home runs and 30 RBIs and has gone 2-for-9 since being promoted to the majors two weeks ago. However, the Orioles’ outfield is overcrowded with right fielder Anthony Santander, center fielder Cedric Mullins and left fielders Colton Cowser and Austin Hays, along with Kyle Stowers and Coby Mayo, who are major-league-ready but at Triple A. Kjerstad is talented but could be expendable. (He ranked 20th on my top 50 prospects list last August.)

In this trade, the Orioles would acquire two solid, controllable relievers to help fortify their bullpen. Gaddis, 26, has posted a 2.87 ERA in 17 appearances for Cleveland this season with 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings and 1.7 walks per nine. Smith, 24, has logged a 2.30 ERA and 1.43 FIP over 16 appearances this year, his first in the big leagues, with 13.8 strikeouts per nine (24 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings). The Guardians could afford to deal both righties because they have a deep bullpen with closer Emmanuel Clase and set-up men such as Tim Herrin, Scott Barlow and Nick Sandlin, along with relievers working their way back from injuries and more good arms in the minors who are ready for promotions.

agree with most all of this.. the only "?" might be who the O's prefer.. a lefty (Herrin) or Smith.. Either way.. works..

Fwiw..I would bemoan losing two BP arms for one RF'er.. Perhaps the Orioles might be inclined to add a "deep" prospect (someone like Luis De Leon)..but it wouldn't be a deal breaker...

Good posting..

Herrin may have more value looking to the future. Lefties Coulumbe and Means are both in their 30's and hitting FA after the season. Cano slips into Kimbrel's closer's role and there should be value for the Orioles with two RPs in the mid 20's with five more years before FA in '30 and saving $5m+ in salary.

Daulton Jefferies was just DFA'D... I believe he has options left and with Kent out with an elbow injury, is it possible Kent goes to the 60 day DL so we can get him on the roster?

Possible to also DFA Avila and call up Parsons til Morgan is ready as well...

Thoughts?

I doubt the O's would deal Kjerstad for 2 relievers. They'll deal Mountcastle and/or Santander before they deal Kjerstad. They might even deal Mullins before a highly touted, ready prospect that has already been promoted. They are in position to add whatever they want. When Mayo gets promoted, what is already the best lineup in MLB will get even better. They're loaded.

....Rymer proposed would send Miller to Los Angeles in exchange for three of the Dodgers top five prospects, two of which are on the MLB Top 100 prospects list. The A’s would acquire catcher Dalton Rushing, the Dodgers’ No. 1 prospect, outfielder Josue De Paula, the Dodgers’ No. 2 prospect, and pitcher Kyle Hurt, the Dodgers’ No. 4 prospect..

After stating you would not trade Clase.. because it's already known and has been repeated, ad nauseum..

Would you consider the same deal for Emmanuel Clase? Who would you change out?..

This means you're basically giving up on contending this season.

I don't think it's worth it. Let a rebuilding team like the A's make that move.
