So, Doug posted Windy's tweets in Woj's thread, but I really do think a LBJ collusion thread is needed.

Per Windy:

New York Times reports that Chris Paul might not join LeBron's LRMR, even tho he's already hired LBJ's agent: http://nyti.ms/cedCay

Word is LeBron indeed advised Paul to demand a trade but he wants CP3 to stay in Western Conf. to make a better rivalry.

Of course CP3 in Orlando running screen rolls with Dwight Howard would be direct challenge to Heat. So that may be a factor, no?

If this is true, then Stern needs to suspend this little fucking asshole for an entire year. I'm sorry, but it's ruining the NBA and it's going to make it impossible to watch.

Is it collusion though? Is it against the rules for a player to push another player to leave? Remember that LRMR is a marketing company, not a agent/agency. I'm not saying its not collusion, or that its not a big deal, but it seems its an undefined area.

I honestly have no clue if it is or isn't, but it just smells rotten and is diluting the integrity of the game.

Telling another super star to leave his team so he can create a super power out West so 2 teams can dominate in separate conferences just doesn't sit well with me.

"Do what's best for you and your family" is becoming a disingenuous moniker for fuck loyalty and integrity.

I mean, CP3 is free to do whatever the hell he wants, but doing it because Prince James said so is ridiculous

Wholeheartedly agree, Damage. It looks awful, and if its not collusion, they need to close some kind loophole.

Stern let this 2010 FA go because it was such an attention getter, and now he might be reaping what's been sown. Although on the flip side, maybe he would rather have all these big market teams be the main contenders. Doesn't seem like a good business model.

While Stern is loving the attention, no doubt, he certainly cannot like anything that resembles lack of parody. It will dilute the game to unprecedented measures.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how to change it, but these recent actions could potentially ruin basketball for a long time, at least for me.

I think everyone needs to just let it go.

I think everyone needs to just let it go.

Look, I'm over LeBron bouncing. What I'm not over is the current state of the game I grew up playing , the game I have watched since I was 8 years old.

Are you a fan of the Cavs or are you a fan of basketball and the Cavs happen to be the team you root for? If it's the former, then I understand why you would let it go.

I'm a fan of the Cavs who has finally put things in perspective as the result of this last playoff collapse and Lebron bouncing around the same time that my own life started taking off in a great way. This last few months put shit in perspective for me big time. The whole thing made me realize that it's not worth it to let this shit become bigger than a peripheral thing.

I'm a fan of letting go of things I have no control over. I play basketball more than ever because I can generally control how that works out for me- aside from the embarrassing knee injuries. And everyone around me says I can control those by not balling anymore. No fuckin way. :chuckles:

I can't control the nature of a league that pays it's players $20 million a year to play the same game I play for free on the weekends and don't treat as a business. Thus...when shit like this happens, I find it healthier to just put it out of sight, out of mind. The state of sports is a mess, but it's almost solely tied to the amount of money changing hands around it.

This is just how it is. You can control your own basketball playing, but not that of the WWENBA.

:chuckles:

Im with you Damage

For the integrity of the league, I want Stern to take a stand against what is happening with LRMR and CAA and everyone on that tidal wave.

For a guy who has been super in control of everything, and working his ass off to present his league in a different light (going to war with players over dress code...we're talking about how you dress COMING to the game, not just on the bench, and then they had the beginning of the 08 season where the Refs were given the freedom to T up players for even looking at them funny)

I just find it hard to believe that Stern doesnt have his hand in all of this backroom dealing.

I saw the way he assisted Bennett in stealing the Sonics from Seattle and I know that his hands are not always clean when he wants something that he considers a benefit for his league financially.

He comes out after the fact and says that his people advised against Bron and LRMR doing what they did... bullshit

These type of things dont happen in David Stern's league without David Stern having his hand in the water, swirling the tide one way or another.

See that? That was me when I was just born. So while I understand your logic, Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavs have been ingrained in my head since I was, well, 3 months old.

Perhaps it's cause I was born and raised here. I know you're from the area but you've also moved to the south and went to school away from the area. I have too, but I have lived in Cleveland for 18 of my 29 years on this earth. The state of the NBA may be something I cannot control. The logical thing to do would be to let it go. But if that is the case, then why tie your allegiance to anything?

What the fuck is Lebrons deal? First he turns his back on Cleveland and now hes "advising" Paul to leave Nawlins? What a piece of shit.

It's interesting that at a time in American history when unions are at their weakest state since the early 1930's, sports unions have never been stronger. The rich man's unions are actually more powerful than the poor man's unions. What an oxymoron.

David Stern has done a masterful job of growing the NBA over the years. He knows exactly what is going on here. The question is how he approaches the solution. I am of the opinion that he will not do anything in public, but will crusade to get more strength in the hands of the owners come the 2011 CBA negotiations. That would seem to be more his style. Take the power away behind the scenes instead of publically calling out your league's superstars.

Well, Paul "advised" LeBron to stay in Cleveland. No reason he should listen to LeBron, to be honest.

It would be a huge embarrassment for LRMR to not land Paul. It shows how much of a joke they really are.

This kind of stuff definitely has me less interested in next season. I'm sure Stern could suspend him, but he won't. I wish a group of stud players would get together to screw up these assholes' plans.

P.S. Who is your avatar? Good lord!
