No man, not about you.. I just feel the term is so loaded.
I wrote extensively about that for years on this site.
Wrathe, take a look at ALL of my posts in the BLM and Treyvon threads.. When have I ever called police brutality a Black vs White issue? Now, keeping that question in mind, count the number of times I've specifically stated "this is not a Black vs White issue;" "it's not a Black vs White cop issue;" and "the only people who make this into a Black vs White issue are folks looking to use race as a wedge."
I've been 100% consistent on this... And yet, if you look at those threads, it's generally been the conservative voices in those threads framing discussions about police brutality in the lens of "Black vs White," as though "cop" == "White." Which, again, speaks to the nature of the racial resentment (and even implicit bias and bigotry) in these threads and how it manifests.
Preterms?
Wrathe, take a look at the condescension that goes on in these threads... You're talking to the wrong guy. I've said, more than once, that I'll back off if someone honestly states that I'm being condescending -- I have no problem apologizing, even if I feel I'm wrong. But how many times is it on me to do that?
Because it's the same 5 posters posting in the same threads on repeat. It's not a mystery.
Personally, I don't think these threads should even exist -- they don't serve a purpose on a site called Real Cavs Fans. But so long as they do, sometimes I'll pop in and correct the record, simply for the users who come here, read these threads and maybe they think "damn, I'm not welcome here." And yes, those users do post here, and yes, I do hear from them.
First off Wrathe, nothing is getting solved in these threads because people here are too afraid to be proven wrong -- and those same people are too prideful to admit they were wrong.
I've said for years we should have more formal debates to resolve disputes and issues and discuss topics but nobody wants that.
Instead, people want to come to RCF and find like-minded folks to share their views with and see if others feel the same. But these folks aren't interesting in getting their views challenged... they've already made up their minds -- they're just hoping to have their views positively reinforced and that reinforcement is far more important than objective reality.
It's why rationality on this site is virtually absent in discussion, and it's why logical discourse has been so bastardized here.
But, regarding the other point you raised, if society degrades to the point that widespread violence breaks out, then I'm prepared and I hope you are too...
Personally, I have no intentions on reasoning with someone's hatred or bias against me or mine, or any other minority, or against White people, or women, or LGBTQ folks, or foreigners/immigrants, etc. Hatred can't be reasoned with; believe me, I've tried.
So knowing that, if it comes to violence, then that's fine... So be it. That's precisely why I'm a second amendment advocate; just for such an occasion.
Wrathe, who says "White Resentment" doesn't exist? In fact, every time the term is used, some guy who doesn't understand what the term means (or doesn't understand "privilege" or any of these sociological terms) flips the script....
White/Male resentment is, and has always been a huge problem in this country. So I don't think anyone pretends it doesn't exist -- but at the same time, when folks try to speak to it, they're called "race hustlers" and "race pimps" or other such coded language...
And with that said, what exactly are we to do? How does one fix White Resentment? Who is responsible for some guy feeling resentment and hatred towards his neighbor and fellow human beings whom he doesn't even know?
I have no idea what you mean by this or how it relates to White resentment?
