How do you feel about the recent women movement in America?

So we're just going to ignore what happened here so we can complain about the thread title instead?

Just getting tired of the whole deal where you all post an article about a woman, a black person, a Muslim person, etc. doing something awful and then make a wild generalization to disparage a whole group of people.

And then for fun you in particular pepper certain users with random "disagrees." I mean, here @gourimoko literally just said "A thread about women..." and you hit disagree. How does that make sense? It's dumb and childish.

Her initial Tweet was indeed worded poorly, but did you see her follow up Tweet?

And putting them on blast...eh? If what she says is true about more lax STD testing then she has a fair point and they should be put on blast...the big blast she's making though is against the director who just changed who she is performing with without her say which is obviously a 100% legit complaint regardless of whether or not the new actor was bi or not.

Where else do you propose we discuss the feminist movement or possible women favoritism in court rulings?

What does this court ruling have to do with feminism? What discussion are we even having, you didn't add any commentary.

The last time we had a discussion about something in the feminist movement there was this same discussion about the thread title. Where else should we post news stories and have discussions about feminism or the justice system going softer on women?

Yes... but.. I still don't see how that justified her admonishing the industry for employing a bisexual actor?

I have no problem with her deciding against shooting with the actor; that's her choice. The problem was how she chose to elucidate that decision, and to do so publicly -- by suggesting that the industry and her agent put her at undue risk by casting her with a bi actor.

the big blast she's making though is against the director who just changed who she is performing with without her say which is obviously a 100% legit complaint regardless of whether or not the new actor was bi or not.

Totally understand that, and she quit the shoot, which is totally her right; and I hope her contract had provisions that allowed her to be compensated in such an event. But.. with that being said, the way she went about calling out the other actor, publicly -- who had nothing to do with anything -- that was why she drew criticism.

Again, what happened to her was sad, but, she deserved criticism for how she handled the situation. It's just so unfortunate that she chose to end her life.

Wait.. are you saying this ruling has something to do with feminism?

The disparity in sentencing between men and women is alarming. If feminism is supposed to be about equality of the sexes, shouldn't this be something they want to fix?

Wow.
Somebody was kidnapped and tortured. The discussion could be about whether the sentence delivered justice to the victim and to the community at large. It doesn't appear so.
But is it possible that this perp was the least aggressive of the bunch and securing her testimony against the others is the key to getting convictions against the rest, and thus a reasonable amount of justice?

Pfft. Who cares.
Let's talk about black and white and Muslim and Christian and liberal and conservative...because how can we know who is good and who is bad unless we peek under the blindfold and assign each person to a group.

It's the gift that keeps on giving...first they thought they could just politicize it to trash BLM...now they realize they can also politicize it to trash feminism! Oh, and the judge is a Muslim, and giving women light sentences is a total Muslim move, or something, right?

It is something they want to fix...our culture encourages violence and aggression in males, and it would be beneficial for people of all genders if we could change that.

Men are naturally aggressive. It's how they survived for thousands of years. You're not going to change that. What's important is finding ways for men to channel their aggression.

Maybe the movement is sometimes applied awfully and how feminists treat certain situations expose them as hypocrites and idealogues is kinda bullshit. Again 1.where will you allow people to post their opinions and 2. will you also try to shut down our segregated threads?

Good point, there is video footage of what happened. I really don't watch to watch it because it's quite disturbing to see something like that. Still, being an accomplice for lesser crimes has resulted in jail time.
