Well the first one is not a good reason. The second one is inconsistent with what he has shown on the court. Third one, I will grant he complains a lot but i blame Nurse for that one

It’s a great reason actually. And I said he has a hideous game doesn’t mean he’s not semi productive out there. The dude can barely dribble it’s why every all star weekend he embarrasses himself somehow when he’s in any event that requires a certain level of skill. Putting up his 21/9/5 isn’t all that impressive when you look at the context of how he’s getting his points and the fact that his team is horrible. Stats have to go somewhere

The All Star Game has become more and more of a joke over the years, and Saturday night is approaching it in how terrible it is. Three point shooting is no longer novel or interesting - though I still think the shootout is worth having. The dunk competition is cool but just because of McClung. The All Star Break is my least favorite part of the NBA season because it means a week without game threads.

• I don’t think the Allstar game should be midseason anyways. Anything could happen in this game as far as a fluke injury.
  I haven’t watched the game in over five years. It’s not really a game…….i get the no defense but God letting somebody just drive past you without offering any resistance??? It’s like the pro bowl used to me. Nobody is putting forth any effort.
  I think the Friday night celebrity game and skills challenge along with the three point shooting is all they should have. The dunk contest should definitely be outlawed. Can you imagine the outrage and backlash if one of these stars “clipped” their foot on Shaq’s head while jumping over him for a dunk and tore his ACL, Achilles or worst.

The whole all star weekend sucked IMO. I channel hopped over to it a few times to see if there was anything worth watching and I never stayed on it for more than a few minutes, it just sucked that bad.

I thought the skills challenge was fine as were the 3pt contests. Dunk contest was mediocre mostly because we've seen it all. It's hard to wow anymore and Lavine and Gordon spoiled us all. The dopamine hit isn't there anymore with no new tricks.

As for the game, if Rivers had told the East team to ease up a few possessions to let them catch up then I think the weekend could have been salvaged if they buckled down and played a little bit in the last 5 minutes but Barnes went hero ball getting layups like a rook and caused too much separation. They should have ensured the game stayed within reach. No one wants to see a blow out with no anticipation. All in all it was fine for what it was supposed to be. That's a lot of big contracts on the court at the same time. The game would have been better with kyrie's handles.

I sure as hell don’t want to see KAT score 50 uncontested points. This kind of performance/effort is why the players “begged” for a week off at all star break?? The players looked like they didn’t even want to be there and their effort showed it.

Maybe just go with it. Make it completely into a no defense score-fest, and challenge each all-star group to break the previous high scoring record each year. How many points can possibly be scored before they max out? Is it 300? 500? 900? NBA all-star fans need to know. Just nothing but uncontested full-court inbounds passes to uncontested 3 point shooters with dunkers standing by for immediate putbacks or to pass it back out for another uncontested 3 point shot. I might be down for that, at least for a year or 2.
