Anderson Varejao

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Andy is there to sabotage the Warriors. 1st try will be in practice stepping under a Curry jump shot.

I get the sentimental reasons for people freaking out over Andy being on the Warriors.

But basketball wise I don't think going to be much of a factor. What will he play, 5-10 minutes per game? We all know how limited he is at this stage physically. If he had to play heavy minutes for is we'd be clamping for Griff to make a deal for someone to take his playing time.

What Intel is he going to give GS about us? LeBron is really good? Kyrie plays a lot of ISO? Love can hit a three and post up well?

GS already knows what they are facing against us, as do most teams in the league.

Andy was always going to sign with a contender that could offer a chance at a little court time. Just happens it's with GS.

This being out of Cavs talk is depressing.

We would have traded him 5 years ago if he could have played past the deadline though, so I'm not really hung up on it too much. I really hope he retires here though.

My exact same thoughts. We were all salivating to move him, but the injuries never allowed it to happen. Anyone remember the Harden trade rumors? Boy how far we have come lol. I wont hold this against him, but I hope he never wins a ring on that team. Godspeed Mr Varejao. Be the suicide bomber we all hoped you would be.

Good for Andy, but I don't see how he really fits in with GS's playing style.

Oh I agree with you. He owes us no loyalty and we owe him none. Frankly, his career here was a bit of a disappointment of injuries, a bad shot, bad contracts and a long holdout.

Let's not go soft and wish him well right now. After we win our title, whatever. Right now, Andy Varejao of the Warriors is in our way and he "can't wait" to beat us if that day comes.

Don't get soft.
You realize fans don't actually suit up and play, right? How can I be a 'soft' fan because I don't suddenly hate a player I previously loved? Is this Junior High?

Huh?

I don't want Andy to win a title this year. I want the Cavs to win not Andy. Not sure what that has to do with High School or you hating other players.

I'm glad he found work, but I don't want him getting a title. Nothing more than that.

That’s great. No one else here wants Golden State to win a title over the Cavs either. I don’t know what you’re even arguing by accusing fans of being ’soft’.

I also don't get the "he doesn't love the city or the Cavs" nonsense either. It's ok for the Cavs to do everything they can to maximize their ability to win a title, but it's not ok for Anderson Varejao to do the same? Why can we trade him to increase our title odds, but he's not allowed to give himself the best shot at a title as well? What a silly double standard.

Sweep the leg Andy, Sweep the leg.

Never accused anyone of anything. Not arguing anything. If the fans have a soft spot and want to cheer for him, that is fine. He's no longer a Cav so I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

Andy is a fantastic fit actually. He is a great passer, moves the ball, high basketball IQ. That is like a prerequisite for being on that team.

The question is physically what he has left. Skill and style wise he fits in great though.

He was a small ball center before it became the trendy thing to do.
