I really Like the End of Windy's Broadcast saying we are the only team willing to spend. Not even the LA Lakers have money to spend now, and Orlando has contracts that cant be traded easily.

I'm still part of Tawn's Army!

This has been a confusing time, in my opinion. The only question I have is this- what type of role will Hickson have in the next few months? Mike Brown has had a very quick hand with some of the younger fellas in the past, and I could see him playing very sparingly, which, I feel makes Hickson expendable.

Ha, this is what is nuts about this time....two minutes later after I think we should stay pat, I feel we should trade Hickson to get A.I., stay tuned for more mind changes.

Little unknown fact about the Lakers.

They do not spend the big money. They are not willing to go into the Luxury like Dan Gilbert is. It's why they have a crappy bench and why they'll most likely not repeat because they aren't willing to give money to people who deserve it.

Anyway, I hope Ferry squeezes the fin like button on the gun for AI2. Hell, why not try to get Jamison and AI2?

Yea well when you get favors from former players, you don't have to spend :)

Didn't Ferry mention being able to use Wally as a sign and trade option? I had never thought of adding both.

What would that do to next year's payroll and luxury tax?

L.A.'s payroll is 11 million dollars higher than ours.

L.A. will spend, they shouldn't have to spend more than they already do.

You have to be really careful with adding too much wages. If you get Iggy then he rockets the cavs payroll, add dalembert and a resigned james its easy for it to go from dan gilbert money to crazy money

So we would have to take one of the two, Dalembert or Brand with Iggy
-But with Brands contract being huge, with hard cap coming in two years, Dalembert is the way to go... Why?

1) Picking up a big contract with Iggy, We won't have to include draft picks.
2) It would keep Ferry Very Flexible Next season with Dalemberts 12 million expiring
3) We would be getting size back in the trade, to fill in for Z for 30 days
- And remember Powe will be back after the allstar game.

As of right now we will be locked up salary wise for the next 3 seasons if we Don't do a trade soon!
- What would happen if a "al jefferson" came available during draft day and we had no way to get him?

Z, Parker, Hickson, Sasha Kaun, S&T Wally, & 3 million
For
Iggy
Dalembert

Not really. Z and Shaq are coming off the books and they probably won't be signing another 10M+ and 20M+ contract respectively for next season.

Assuming we give Shaq and Z realistic contracts, it should be a little higher than it currently is. That's not "crazy money."

It makes no sense to play future "what-ifs" when it comes to deadline trading. There's always a chance that someone more appealing comes along in the future, but if you have a move available that significantly improves your team now, you have to do it. That's not saying force anything, but passing up a legit trade for pie in the sky hopes is ridiculous.

Honestly, I just want to win now. The future is the future. We have had nothing in this town since 1964. Holding onto things (Jaret Wright, anyone?) might not prove to be the right thing.

Potential is the most overused and dangerous word in Sports.

Its not what-ifs, it's called Flexibility. Which we will have none if we don't make a trade this year...

Is it Feb. 18th yet? But now, we MAY make a trade BEFORE the deadline? I just can't contain myself!

I'm on that boat too.

Iguodala is easily in that class. Has the potential to be an All-Star as a complimentary star, but just mired in mediocrity when the whole burden is on his shoulders.

If it wasn't for Iggy's supersized contract, it would be a simple problem. We rolled the dice on Mo Williams for the same reason, and it worked out. So I guess in that vein, coupled with the Shaq trade, I should trust Ferry's talent evaluation.

If it wasn't for Iggy's supersized contract the 76ers wouldn't be considering trading him!
