AV, Cavs agree to deal - 6yrs, $42.5 million

RCF has been told by several sources that Anderson Varejao and the Cleveland Cavaliers are close to a deal that will keep the popular player in Cleveland for the next 4-5 years. Only a few technical issues need to be worked out.

It's an important signing. Letting Anderson walk was simply not an option. S&T or keeping him were Ferry's only options. Glad it sounds like he accomplished one of the goals.

People need to can it if they get pissed about this being the news. It IS big in the sense that Ferry can move on from those talks and know exactly what he's working with (who's already on the roster, how high our salaries are, etc.). Once this deal is hammered out, Ferry will be spending time doing nothing but looking to sign or trade for new players. No more worrying about bringing back our own young talent.

Very happy to have him back. He's a key contributor to this team and it seems so easily forgotten how much of a factor he has been in past wins.

One could argue that he's our most important big.

Agree with everyone that it is a good move to keep him, get him locked up for a while, and hopefully for the right number. Andy is a great player to have on a team.
