Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Finally a GM in town that knows what he's doing. But the politically correct narrative that Taylor will be the starter this season is ridiculous.

Yet another excellent example that the term "politically correct" is one word too long. In the future, just say "correct."

Poor Corey. Overdrafted by an unqualified GM. He's dying for Sashi's sins.

Oh cmon, he was the PFF top WR of that draft. He was projected to go in the 20s and he went at 15. Let's not pretend he was a 3rd round projection. Lots of people here wanted Treadwell, who had 21 career receptions. Coleman has 53 and he broke his hand in both seasons, which was very unlucky.

I don't love the guy but he wasn't a "sin" like Cam Erving, Gilbert, Johnny, etc.

Yeah, but he also had the balls to wear #19 and ask a legend to do so.

You're not allowed to suck if you do that.

Coleman also had McCown, Kessler, and Kizer throwing him balls. And Pryor and Britt opposite him. Let’s give him a year with Tyrod, Flash, and Jarvis.

Kessler is a great QB per PFF, the people who said Coleman was the top WR in 2016. Whaaaadya mean?!

Kessler is an accurate QB, to be sure, and likely would have been a decent back-up in the NFL, but it seems like he just got destroyed by the beating he took his rookie year.

I mean, I didnt think he was terrible. At least at first. But PFF was pretty high on him.

He graded well for them, but if you read their actual scouting report on him it outlines his issues, including arm strength, a regression from 2014 to 2015, his inconsistency under pressure, and his middling measurables.

It's why you can't just look at the PFF number assigned to a player in a vacuum. A high grade doesn't always mean a player is a lock to be a good NFL player. It simply means they were very productive in college. Kessler was very productive in college, but at the same time he had obvious flaws, which is why he wasn't drafted until the third round despite his high PFF grade.
