Bernie and Jane Sanders, under FBI investigation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Agreed. Basically, we're fucked.
Follow ideas not people.

What's that saying? Low intelligence people talk about people, mid intelligence about events, smart about ideas?

This board follows people. Not only people, but essentially one person.

I had that on my office door in 2001.

Who the hell said it?

Left-leaning pussy-eating Eleanor Roosevelt, I think. My supervisor also said it in a very important meeting. Let's talk more about that person...

No doubt. Cuz people who think it's ethical and noble to forcibly plunder money from those who have earned it in order to doll it out to people who haven't earned it are the very definition of people of "character".

Helping those who cannot help themselves is absolutely an example of character.

Assuming those in need are all leeches to the government or don't want to strive for better certainly is not.

I'm more an event guy

Good meeting?

Yeah... I'm not sure if @Cratylus even believes that those who argue for a strong social safety net lack character; I'm quite sure he's joking...

Just keep taking more off the top and funnel it to the bottom until we are Venezuela. Saunders '16

"Helping"... is that what the left is calling forcible plunder nowadays?
"Can't help themselves"... is that what the left is calling people who make poor life decisions (like dropping out of school, doing drugs, getting pregnant outside of marriage, etc.) and then blame others when they find that their life is significantly harder than it needs to be?

Just to be clear, @David. is less well-off than @gourimoko is. I guess he's perfectly within his rights to forcibly take money from @gourimoko , cuz you know, it's a noble and right thing to do, especially when the richies won't willingly fork over money on demand. Take it from the greedy bastards!

And never have I EVER assumed or implied that those in need are all leeches. No doubt there are people in genuine need. Many people. And that's why as a TRULY noble person I donate my time, money, and efforts to several different charities and causes. What I won't do, however, is demand or require YOU to join in my efforts. That's the difference between my philosophy and yours, @AZ_ . I do through personal and private compassion what you seek to do through public coercion and compulsion.

Just to tag on, but the belief is that people will do much better for themselves if are pushed rather than coddled. Incentivize the wrong things, end up with the wrong consequences. That's a broad brush to paint with, their are obviously people in need that need help, but the way you get the most out of someone is liberation and a kick in the ass, not sedation and a check in the mail.

You're welcome to create all the strawmen you wish at my expense.

Honestly, I'm undecided on him. Genuinely. And I've heard almost exclusively bad.

That speaks only to the breadth of your information gathering. Oh politics threads... It's been fun to revisit!
