Billy Preston: Most likely the next LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This thread is making me a Billiever!

Child please !! I’ve gotten drunk with Vin Baker and had one of his girlfriend’s nipples in my mouth (which also may have gotten me killed — it was during his Rockets days— I became a mod here like 6 weeks later)...

I also own a Derrick Coleman tie dye 1990 game used Nets jersey (most underrated jersey of all time)... A combo of Champion and SandKnit

I believe every word... but I don't believe Vin Baker was sober around you, and I don't believe Derrick Coleman was motivated while wearing a tie dye jersey. Those adjectives and those people got along like Will Chamberlain and Abstinence.

Fair enough !!

Vin is a drunk cuckold and Derrick NEVER could have worn a 46+3 in length... So I’ll always question authenticity ???

Billy is the kind of risk a team takes when they have traded away their second round draft pick. He's a good risk I suppose if he can work hard and behave himself, but that would require some character growth. Even the team with the #60 pick thought there were better options out there.

Do you know of character issues? Behavioral problems?

We need to get you a shot of your choice, Cavatt... Have a drink.. Relax !!

Love this move. It’s like the Knicks drafting Mitchell Robinson in the second round. Both guys haven’t played in like a year.

I don’t understand why the Cavs didn’t just sign Preston rather than inviting him to play with them in summer league? If he plays well then all the sudden they’re going to have a bidding war on their hands. I think we all know that this is not a very cap-friendly team, at this point.

One of the articles said he has been in Cleveland since Sunday working out with the team. We will have a good guage on him before he ever steps foot on the floor for summer league. He will probably go against alot more actual NBA talent in Cleveland than in Vegas in summer league. No article actually states what he was signed with, just he was signed.

I assume if they see promise in him they will try to get him on either a two way contract or sign him to be on our 15 man roster. I assume his agent is trying to get him on a 15 man roster.

Yes, that would be cool.
We ain't got much invested into this guy so it'll be fine. If there's some minor imperfections or infractions he was into I don't give a crap. Nobody's perfect, who am I to judge. This is BB we're talking. I liked the footage of this guy that I seen. It's his big opportunity really. Bring it, show us what you got. This is Billys chance to earn a nice living and maybe become something he'll appreciate forever.

The fact the NCAA kept him in the dark about whether he could play in the dark for 30 games seems excessive. Should have given him the thumbs up or down.

I love these diamond in the rough players. Always a great story.

I would not wait long if the cavs to lock him up. Will not cost much and is worth the flyer.
If LBJ leaves, Preston could follow him to wherever he goes
He is a basketball player or a freaking groupie? :D

Watching tape, he reminds me of Jeff Green. Maybe that isn’t a fair assessment but I get the same vibe. Big dude with tantalizing talent but doesn’t have the ability to play within himself.

Again, I hope I’m wrong but there are a lot of hallmarks of a guy who thinks he’s a 1A but more like a 3A/3B who refuses to do the things a 3A/3B should do.

Not trying to be a wet blanket, just being realistic here. He has a ton of talent but he hasn’t played meaningful games in a long time and was raw / tranisitioning in to a new role when he did.
