Bosh tells Colangelo he won't resign

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There are 2 driving forces as to where a guy like Bosh might go. (1) a winning team that will compete for the champioship or (2) a glamour city like NY, LA or Miami. The money will be the same no matter where he goes. So, even if Dallas had the necessary assets, can Dallas expect to be able to resign him. If they trade Dirk and Howard and ???, I am not sure they would be considered a champioship team even with Bosh. I think that Bosh is a longshot to be traded this year (although I think it is in the Raptors best interest to do so since I do not believe that Bosh is going to resign with them) but if he is I think the CAVs as good a chance as anybody because of James.

Who do they have to trade? They dont have young talent, and Dirk/Howard are 30 and 28 (will be 29 this year).

You are wrong. See? I can make statements too without any reasoning behind them.

  • Bosh is from Texas. Playing for his home town would be a dream.
Bosh is 25 & Dirk is 31. Because of the age difference Dallas would need to throw another player,a role player or a move that would balance the books for the Raptors. Bosh & Dirk are very similar if you look at their style.
Dirk would be the final piece for team EURO

In other news. While bosh was addressing the media, he said he is not worried about 2010, he just wants to focus on Cleveland. Take it however you want.

Bosh mentioned only focusing on Cleveland? I'm confused.

Mr Wine and Gold, could we get some kind of confirmation that we won't be trading for Bosh this trade deadline.

Nobody knows the answer to that question except Danny Boy.

Not that it means much, but this was Chad Ford's take on the subject in his chat today:

Joe (cleveland): What would Toronto demand for Bosh at this point? Do the Cavs have the pieces?

SportsNation Chad Ford: (1:13 PM ET ) At this point, meaning by the trade deadline? I think Colangelo would need to get a young potential superstar back. He can't give Bosh away. This summer, if things look like re-signing Bosh in 2010 isn't going to happen, it could be much less. That's why I think there's an arguement that you trade him now. A team in contender mode might be willing to give up more to have him for two title runs. As for Cleveland, they don't have the pieces to make a deal. But I wonder if a Miami deal that sent Michael Beasley, Shawn Marion's expiring contract and perhaps a future first or Daequan Cook might do it? If I was Pat Riley I'd jump all over that. A Bosh, Wade connection would be awesome.

rofl @ SAS ducking colangelo's calls like he's arnold jackson and the gooch is on the phone.

Why would Bosh play for the lousy Mavericks? They aren't going anywhere, and they sure as hell don't have anyone. Josh Howard? Are you kidding me? He's a loser.

I agree, that Miami would be the clear front runner. If I was both teams, I'd do that.

Bosh and Wade is scary. You got to take a potential young stud in Beasley(who I do think will be bust though, different story), and the expiring contract of Marion, maybe they resign him even.

We have as good of pieces that any other contender has. What do the Lakers have? They aren't trading Gasol, doubtful anyways. Bynum is hurt and he's off limits. So who do they have? Odom, that's a laugh. Mavericks have NOTHING. Josh Howard is a cancer and a headache. There's no way they take a overrated wing player, for Bosh, unless they are insane. Spurs have nothing to offer as well, unless they are willing to trade Manu.

We have two young, talented big man. Not saying we have the best offer, but it's not THAT bad.

We are better to wait, really. If he were to be traded by the deadline, Miami would jump over it and get him.

They still could next year. What I fear is they'll sign Boozer, but then again they'll lose Marion's huge contract so they could be out of running next season.

It's a good thing for the cavs if he's not traded this season. Next year, we might have a golden chance. Let's hope the Raptors stink and he wants out.

A Dirk and Bosh trade? First off, they'll never trade Dirk. Mark Cuban probably sleeps with him. No, seriously, I'm not kidding. He cried when Dirk won the mvp. He said he wouldn't trade him for Kobe Bryant, and he was serious.

I don't know why everyone thinks playing in their hometown is a dream. Sure, players might like it but I don't know if they HAVE to play there. Why would he go to Dallas especially with Dirk leaving, and expect them to go anywhere? The got an aging point guard in Kidd who will go to LA next season. They got a selfish loser wing player in Howard, who wants to be Da Man. Talent wise, I think the Raptors are better and he's not in that different of a situation just staying put.

Dallas is not a contender and I don't know why he'd want to go there, other than it being his hometown. It seems like it's not a geography problem, but a winning one with Bosh.
