Just now getting around to the press conference. I thought Berry's response was interesting when he was asked, "Do you feel the organization need to reevaluate the importance and/or style of the DTs given how bad the run defense is?"

He basically said that "they would always try to match to personnel to the schematic vision. The coaches do a great job of telling him what they need and when Stefanski hires a DC they'll link up with him on that area."

Slight paraphrase but very close verbatim to what he said.

I think this tells us that Woods didn't prioritize high-level DTs in his scheme. In terms of player acquisitions we always had a higher focus on the other areas, particularly cornerback. Perhaps another DC will more strongly emphasize talent along the interior d-line.
