Browns trade Danny Shelton to Pats

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah I can't say I get this move right now.

Shelton was pretty effective.

I’m trying to wrap my head around how this makes any sense at all?

Looking at the draft order, the only “that sorta makes sense” jump is if we could swap #64 for #43.

I don’t see another swap that makes a ton of sense for us. Guess we’ll see on the details of the trade but this is pretty “meh”.

I think this defensive scheme values pass rusher inside much more than the lane clogger Shelton is. That being said, the compensation is underwhelming...

DT is either going to be an early pick or we have a pretty big one coming in via FA.

Even if Shelton wasn't in the long term plans, dumping him along with a pick seems pretty silly.

Is it just me or is that really shitty compensation?

I mean, and I’m not a guy who has ever really been a fan of Shelton.

We must be having a DT coming in this weekend.

It’d be interesting if they are going back to Miami for the Suh sweepstakes....

It’s really bad IMO.

We are trading a capable player AND a 2018 pick for a 2019 pick that will be at the end of any round it is in.

Unless the conditions can jump the pick up to a 2nd or something, this makes no sense to me.

I mean, that better be a good 2019 pick...

Yeah there better be an upgrade replacement coming in. Feel like there almost has to be. It's the only way this trade makes sense to me. Dontari Poe, anyone? Has the KC connection and still reasonably young.

If they didn't value Shelton that much, getting a 3rd rounder back isn't terrible.

Granted it will be at the end of the round, but better than nothing.
