Bulls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cap. Kirk had a real stinker of a season last year. It started with his jumpshot with the US team then carried into the season. Once his jumper was established as broken early on his decision making soon went to pot followed closely by his defense.

Up and down is the way I guess best describes his year. But all of the physical ability and skills are still there. I think Kirk was most mentally affected by all that went on in Chi. Whereas guys like Ben got old, Deng was injured and the front court was just a mess of young guys.

Hinrich to me is a superior overall player to West. His jumper and handle are more pure, he's far more aggressive and much better in the half court and he's a much better decision maker and much faster in the open court. He's also a much, much better passer.

Hinrich is a guy who would wave off Lebron and make the correct play. The thing I dont like about bringing in Hinrich is that it is not enough of an improvement over what we already have. He's not THAT much better than West in any area, but he's better overall. If we sign Hinrich, someone has to go from our back court in order to make way for the back court player who can be effective on the floor while being able to guard the 2-3... Because that is the area of most pressing concern right now.

Hinrich kept drifting in and out of our trade discussions last year with the trade we ended up making ...just couldn't find the way under all the time constraints to get it to work ...now maybe we can revisit where we were and try and see if a way exists to get Hinrich here ...we'll see.

Cool, but that was before we landed West. Would we want to, and would it even be wise for us to try to get Hinrich?

I mean, we have West here, and we are going to sign him to a Starting PG contract, right? So.... you see where I am getting at?

People who say Gordon is a chucker I disagree. The guy comes off the bench with no problems. He will shot if told too and pass if told too. He shot like 15 less 3's than LeBron yet hit 30 more. His hotspot thing on NBA.com looks pretty good from last season. If he could finish better inside i think he would lose his chucker perception.

Get him Ferry!

I agree, I am not fond of the idea of getting players just to get them. Heinrich doesn't really make a ton of sense seeing that we have two guys who can come in and run the point. I'd rather wait and see what is available at the deadline rather than get him I think.

What about Luol Deng? What's his cap situation? I remember him coming up pretty big against the Cavs, but that seems to happen to a lot of players. Still, I think he could be a great compliment to LeBron, and it wouldn't matter that he plays SF.

I don't think anyone here wouldn't like Deng. Unfortunately, the Bulls will probably match any offer sheet for him.

The reason I brought it up is because I thought maybe they wouldn't be focused on keeping him with having to deal with Gordon and then ESPN reporting something about them being in the market for another big man.

Well, even though they're real busy and active, Deng is their best player. The offer sheet won't just slip by unnoticed especially if it is made by us.

Hinrich is a good buy-low candidate. He's not old. He's not crippled. His salary is high but not out of whack if he plays well. And most importantly the Bulls don't need him anymore.

he's a pretty good defender too. also his contract was front loaded, so the longer he's here the cheaper he'd be. I always thought that Kirk would be a good fit for LeBron, and even though he's not a 'pure' pg, the Cavs don't necessarily need that, bc of how much LeBron dominates the ball. i was surprised by his poor year last year and if the Cavs can grab him at a low price, then I say do it.

Thabo would be nice, but A)i doubt he's available and b) the Cavs can't afford to be taking on backcourt projects, no matter how high the ceiling.

If the Cavs are "one and a half players away" like LeBron says, then I think Hinrich is the half part of the equation. they would still need to trade for someone like Vince Carter, but starting Hinrich, Vince, James, Big Ben and Z isn't a bad way to field a team.

The problem with Hinrich is that he mentally fell apart last year. Im leary of guys like that. The Cavaliers dont need another Pavlovic-like mental case.

And the 38 or so million left on his deal is problematic to me since I dont believe he is that great of an upgrade from Delonte West if at all.

How much of an upgrade over west is Hinrich? Thats my only question. I have read though that ferry is interested in him. W&G if you read this, what do you think of Captain Kirk's game? Would it be a huge improvement over what we currently have if we resign our fa's?

edit: MYoung, great minds think alike, lol

Since this is titled "Bulls", I will throw out that a swap of Hughes and Z-Bo may make sense for both teams. The Bulls need a big body underneath, and Hughes is not a player of need for Chicago. Hughes fits the Danotoni style of play much better then Z-Bo....

If something like that happened, I am not sure that they would even be looking to get rid of either Hinrich or Gordon

Maybe we could trade Wallace for Larry Hughes? He sounds like a good fit for the Cavs and would give the team the perimeter defense that it needs. :D:D:D:D

We need some scoring and defense from our shooting guard. How bout AV, Sasha, Damon, and a first rounder for Hughes?

Wait!!! I was kidding when I said Larry Hughes-- Cavs got rid of him & Drew for a reason. They don't want them back--
