Butler Boat !!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't see this as a great fit, needs the ball and can't shoot 3's, too short to guard Durant.

I would first do anything in my power to get PG13 in here, he is our best chance to defeat the Warriors, Butler doesn't change that much if we're giving up Love.

Whoever they get between George and Butler, if Love is in either deal, I think Melo is the next person we go after. Melo can be Loves replacement. George or Butler upgrade the defense. It just a better over all fit. They can go get Melo at anytime but having Melo, LBJ, and Love limits playing all of your big 4 at the same time. Also if you have moved Love when you call up the Knicks, they can't ask for him.

Wildest off season in Cavs history??

I think this is smoke to put heat on the Pacers. Honestly George is a much better fit and between he and LeBron gives us more flexibility from the 2-4 positions...George also has decent handles himself.

I swear, this Ferry guy is a genius

Jimmy Butler - 27 years old. Two years left on contract.
Paul George - 27 years old. one year left on contract.

JB in 2017 - 24 ppg, 5.5 apg, 6 rpg. .455 fg%. Career .337 3p%. 26.5 USG in 2017. 25.1 PER in 2017.
PG in 2017 - 23.7 ppg, 3.3 apg, 6.6 rpg. .461 fg%. career .37 3p%. 28.9 USG in 2017. 20.2 PER in 2017.

Can't really compare career numbers because JB ascended a few years ago when his USG spiked. Defense is gonna be the eye test mostly. Both have great defensive reputations IIRC.

It's close between the two but Jimmy is a better individual player right now while PG is a better fit. Either would give us a massive boost though.

Is this a 'we moved on from George talks' by Cavs?

I mean this is Marc Stein reporting this... the one guy that didn't get cut.

Edit: nevermind, he's cut

I think on paper and as traditional Basketball senses says Butler is a better fit but I agree PG is the better fit for this team and against the warriors. Jimmy Butler has shined when the ball has been in his hands, he can play off the ball but some of the best he has played is when Rose was hurt. PG on the other hand has played some of his best when with Lance Stephenson and switching on and off the ball.

Assuming we get Melo too. The question is does LeBron become less effective if he is playing SG for stretches with PG or Melo at the 3/4? Is it more effective to have Butler playing his nature position at SG and keeping LBJ/Melo at the forward positions?
