Damn. When sitting on the sideline smiling while icing your knees is a good sign, you know things aren't good.

*fixed

Lets keep it positive, keep it past tense.

I assume this is a different twist on the same observation, but it contains slightly more content. From The Bullshit Whisperer:

Andrew Bynum progressing, working out. Seen at Cavs practice today. Smiling, ice bags on knees after practice. Still no 5-on-5 tho.

That's a really negative interpretation to take from this. From what the second report says it seems like he was active during practice, and iced his knees afterwards. That seems pretty normal to me.

I've always thought 40 games was optimistic for Bynum this year. Andy and Thompson will get biginutes, hopefully Bennett can work his way in there as well.

Bynum is just a trade chip for Kevin Love anyway

But seriously, we got him on quite the bargain deal, and when he is healthy he is easily the best overall center in the game (imo). If he plays the last half of the season and we are in the playoff race, he could be a huge difference for us. Man, if we were completely healthy, we could be insanely good. Our depth is ridiculous either way.

He is going to have to ice his knees every day for the rest of his life. Z iced his feet after every game. It just means he is following the rules.

I dont play basketball and ice my one knee everyday. Its amazing how much it helps reduce and remove swelling and pain from the knee when you're facing degenerative cartilage.

He has the best trainers in the world; guys he's going to play this year and may shock some folks. Get your popcorn ready.

Exciting bump:

If he can do 5-on-5 by the time the season starts, we'll be in good shape.

Andrew Bynum: Leon Powe 2.0

I'm keeping my expectations low. If he plays 500 minutes and is capable of taking the court in April/June, I'll consider this a win.

I wonder who will start first, and ultimately be more effective from this time forward, Greg Oden or Andrew Bynum.

Based on Bynums glowing reviews today, and Greg Oden's knee swelling set back today, looks like Bynum has the edge.

Well Oden played in a scrimmage prior to the swelling. We'll see what happens when Bynum gets to that point.
